LHC 14 & 15 April 2015• 9:22: Ramp to 6.5 TeV lost due to MUFO, resulting in quench• 10:30: Access during cryo recovery• 16:00: Pre-cycle• 17:05: RB.A78 short towards end of pre-cycle: access EPC• 20:45: Cycling• 22:00: Injection of beam. Beam dump system MKD waveform and
abort gap keeper (AGK) set-up– 23:45: QPS not OK for RB.A34, RQD/RQF.A34. Very likely communication
problem with gateway• 06:00: Pilots at 6.5 TeV• 07:19: Dump again on BLM 15.R8• 08:00: QPS – gateway problem is back, to be sorted out

Actions taken
• Reduce BLM dump thresholds of 4 adjacent BLMs by factor of 2.2– Dump the beam before the magnet quenches
• Installed two mobile BLMs on magnet C• UFO buster is now working• Post Mortem on orbit up again• Contact with vacuum group; possibility of
X-Ray of the interconnect
