Closetheliquidsideservicevalve(allthewayin).

Turnontheunit'soperatingswitchandstartthecoolingoperation.

Whenthelow-pressuregaugereadingbecomes12

to0.5kg/cmG(14.2to7.1P.S.I.G.),fullyclosethegassidevalvestemandthenquicklyturnoffthe unit.Atthattime,PumpDownhasbeencompleted

andallrefrigerantgaswillhavebeencollectedintheoutdoorunit.

Toopenthe2-wayvalveturnthevalvestemcounterclockwiseapproximately90,waitforabout2~3sec,andcloseit.Applyasoapwateroraliquidneutraldetergent

ontheindoorunitconnectionoroutdoorunitconnectionsbyasoftbrushtocheckforleakageoftheconnectingpointsofthepiping.

Turnthevalvestemofgassidevalve

counter-clockwisetofullyopenthevalve.

Loosenthechargehoseconnectedtothegasside

serviceportslightlytoreleasethepressure,then

removethehose.

Replacetheflarenutanditsbonnetonthegasside

serviceportandfastentheflarenutsecurelywithan

adjustablewrench.Thisprocessisveryimportantto

preventleakagefromthesystem.

Replacethevalvecapsatbothgasandliquidside

servicevalvesandfastenthemtight.Thiscompletesairpurgingwithavacuumpump.Theairconditionerisnowreadytotestrun.

theoutdoorunitarekeptclosedatthis

stage.

Connectthemanifoldvalve(withpressure

gauges)anddrynitrogengascylinderto

thisserviceportwithchargehoses.

CAUTIONBesuretouseamanifoldvalveforairpurging.Ifitisnotavailable,useastopvalveforthispurpose.The"Hi"knobofthemanifoldvalvemustalwaysbekeptclose.

Pressurizethesystemtonomorethan150

P.S.I.G.withdrynitrogengasandclosethe

cylindervalvewhenthegaugereading

reached150P.S.I.G.Next,testforleakswith

liquidsoap.

CAUTION

Toavoidnitrogenenteringtherefrigerantsysteminaliquidstate,thetopofthecylindermustbehigherthanitsbottomwhenyoupressurizethesystem.Usually,thecylinderisusedinaverticalstandingposition.

Doaleaktestofalljointsofthetubing(both

indoorandoutdoor)andbothgasandliquidside

servicevalves.

Bubblesindicatealeak.Besuretowipeoffthe

soapwithacleancloth.

Afterthesystemisfoundtobefreeofleaks,

relievethenitrogenpressurebylooseningthe

chargehoseconnectoratthenitrogencylinder.

Whenthesystempressureisreducedtonormal,

disconnectthehosefromthecylinder.
