    I. General Event Information

    1. The LFSCART Series 2010 is a series of racing events using the Live forSpeed simulation and utilizing the Formula V8 (FO8).

    2. The New Dimension Racing Sporting Code is in effect with thisdocument.

    II. Car Setups

    1. R4 tyres are prohibited at road circuit rounds. R3 and R4 tyrecompounds are prohibited at all Oval rounds.

    2. Failure to comply with the tire regulations will result in black flag,ordering the driver to change to an allowed compound.

    3. Setups must be within the limitations of Live for Speed software.

    III. Entry Procedure

    1. The entry to the LFSCART Series' qualification and race sessions, will

    be allowed in the following cases:a) The driver is directly accepted without further requirements when

    he fulfilled one of the following requirements:

    (1)The driver was 5th or better in the LFSCART Series driver'schampionships of 2008 or 2009.

    (2)The driver was 3rd or better in the LFSCART Light Winter Seriesdriver's championship of 2010.

    (3)The driver was 3rd or better in the Kyoto 500 races of 2008 or2009.

    (4)The driver is 10th or better in the spdoDatabase's driver'sranking.

    b) All other drivers are accepted when the applicant fulfilled thefollowing requirements:

    (1)An hotlap uploaded to LFSWorld of FO8 on KY1 within 103% ofthe World Record, and

    (2)An hot lap uploaded to LFSWorld of FO8 on any road course ofthe LFSCART Series within 103% of the world record, and

    (3)A total online driven distance of 12430mi / 20000km.

    2. All cars are single-driver cars. A Team is a grouping of at least onebut no more than four cars.

    3. To enter, please submit the following information in the thread titledLFSCART Series 2010 Sign Ups

    a) Team Name

    b) Team Manager (First and Last Name of the Manager and LFSLicense ID)

    c) Number of cars (between 1-3, 4th car available to the defending

    Team champion and teams who are also competing in LFSCARTLight Summer Cup)

    d) Car Number(s) between 02-99. Number 00 is reserved for the

    defending Kyoto 500 champion, Number 01 is reserved for thedefending LFSCART champion

    e) LFS-License ID, First Names and Last Names of the racers (next tothe numbers), his/her nationality and the racer's gender.

    4. A team may change their drivers during the season as long as the new

    driver fulfills the entry requirements. However, the team needs tocontinue to race with the car numbers given in the sign up.

    IV. Liveries

    1. All car liveries must be uploaded to LFSWorld.net, and therefore mustfulfill the LFSWorld.net terms of service for the skin upload service.

    2. Cars entered by a team may be presented in substantially differentliveries.

    3. The livery must contain the car number on the nose and on the rearwing side plates. The driver's name and his national flag must be put

    onto both sides of the driver cell.4. The official logo, as well as other required markings will be provided

    by the series' officials, and must be placed in the required position(s)or placement area(s).

    5. If two or more cars of a team have substantially identical liveries, therear wing endplates shall have different colors.

    V. Qualification Session

    1. The Qualification session shall be held before the race, with theexception of the Kyoto 500 ,which will have its own format, as

    described in its rulebook, and the Martinsville Twin Indy 200, wherethe grids are set by Owner's points.

    2. The Qualification session for road circuit events shall consist of:

    a) Two open sessions. Each session will have one-half of available carson track.

    (1)The administration may set the two qualifying groups before theevent based on factors including, but not limited to; previousevent finish, current point standings, sign up order.

    b) An one hotlap session for the top 6 cars out of the previous

    sessions combined.

    3. The open sessions will be titled Qualifying 1 and Qualifying 2

    a) Each Session is 10 minutes.

    b) Drivers may drive an unlimited number of laps within these 10minutes. After completion of the session, a full in lap must becompleted.

    c) The top 30 of the combined sessions are qualified.

    d) The fastest three drivers from each session will advance to the

    Fast-Six Superpole session.e) Grid positions 7-30 will be set after the results of the combined

    sessions.

    f) The session will be held in the hardcore mode. All cars whichspectate (shift+s) or join the pits (shift+p) are not allowed tocontinue the qualifying session.

    4. The one hotlap session will be titled Fast-Six Super pole

    a) Each driver must take one out lap, one hotlap, one inlap.

    b) The drivers will be sent on track to qualify in this order: 3rd Q1 - 3rd

    Q2 - 2nd Q1 - 2nd Q2 - 1st Q1 - 1st Q2

    c) The results of the Fast-Six-Super pole are taken to set the gridpositions 1-6

    5. On Oval tracks, the qualifying will be run using an automatic system,which will control the order and inform drivers of their current status.

    a) Each driver has one attempt to complete an outlap, two flying laps,and one inlap.

    b) The fastest of the two flying laps will count as the official time.

    6. Any driver who is not within 107% (on ovals 103,5%) of the provisionalpole (1st place after the combination of both Qualifying sessions) willnot be allowed to take part in the race.

    a) This rule will not be enforced if the resulting grid would have lessthan 26 cars.

    b) On road courses drivers who have set a time within 107% of thepole position during the Official Free Practice Session may beallowed to take part in the race at administrator discretion.

    7. Drivers who have not competed in the qualifying session may takepart, if the grid has open spots and the 107% (103,5%) rule is notenforced.

    8. Should the qualification be stopped and not restarted, the race gridwill be set by Owner's points.

    VI. Race Procedures

    1. All LFSCART Series Oval races are scheduled for a distance of aminimum 125mi/200km or a maximum of 500mi/800km.

    2. A LFSCART Series road course race is scheduled for a distance of a

    maximum of 200mi/320km.3. A LFSCART Twin Grand Prix consists of two races of identical distances.

    4. Each LFSCART Event has a time limit. Road circuit races are eithertheir scheduled distance or 2 hours, whichever is completed sooner.Oval Races (excepting the Kyoto 500, which has no limit) are eithertheir scheduled distance or 3 hours, whichever is completed sooner.The timing starts at the green flag of the initial start, not the start ofthe LFS race.

    VII. Start Procedure

    1. The race will be started via rolling start.2. The safety car will lead the grid through one formation lap on road

    courses and two formation laps on oval tracks.

    3. In the last sector, the grid shall sort into formation.

    a) The grid shall be in generally even rows of two with odd positionson the inside and even positions on the outside of Turn 1.

    b) Between the inside and outside line there shall be at least one carwidth.

    c) All cars shall keep 3 car length to the car in front.

    d) After the Safety Car pulls into pit lane, the field shall keep 80 kph,49 mph.

    4. The Green Flag signal starts the race. Once the Green Flag is out,overtaking is permitted.

    VIII. Incidents

    1. Should you be involved in an incident that renders your car unable tocontinue, please remain in your position until further directions arereceived from Race Control. If the car is in an unsafe location, theSafety Car will be deployed.

    a) All drivers shall heed any yellow flags displayed by LFS, as well as afull-course caution, that may be declared by the Race Director.

    2. If you are involved in an incident with another car(s) and you feel thatit was caused by another competitor, you may file a complaint in thethread specified for such in the LFS Forums.

    IX. Pit stops

    1. The pit lane is divided into the fast lane (closest to the pit wall) andthe working area (with the pit stalls)

    2. Pit lane speed limit shall be 80kph / 49 mph.

    3. The last pit stall is reserved for the leader in the Owner'sChampionship.

    a) Failure to this procedure will result in not scoring for the Owner'sChampionship in this event.

    4. Drivers who cross the blend line with more then 2 wheels on pit exitwill receive a Drive-Through-Penalty.

    X. Red Flag

    1. The Red Flag is used to stop the session.

    2. The Race Director may declare a red flag when track conditions areunfit for the race to continue under safety car or if the serverexperiences severe lag or crashes.

    3. The Race Director will display a message stating RED FLAG andtrack condition indicator will change to T: RED

    4. No chat is allowed. The competitors shall wait for further instructionsby the race administration.

    a) Each line of chat under a red-flag condition will be a two-pointpenalty to the driver.

    5. The race clock will not stop when the red flag is shown. If the time

    limit expires during the red flag period, there will not be a restart andthe results one lap prior to the red flag will be taken as final results.

    6. If less than 2 laps of the race are complete, the race will be nullifiedand a complete restart (including of the time limit) will occur.

    7. If more than 2 laps but less than 75% of the scheduled distance are

    complete, the race will be restarted with the remaining distance beingwhat was left at the time of the red flag. This restart is a rollingrestart The order will be from the previous completed lap prior to thered flag. This new race will be the result. In the event the race cannotbe started, it will be treated as if the race was red-flagged after 75%distance.

    8. If more then 75% of the scheduled distance are completed, therecannot be a restart, and the results one lap prior to the red flag orserver failure will be taken as final results.

    XI. Full-Course Caution

    1. The Safety Car shall be used by administration to neutralize the race.

    2. When the message SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED appears on the screen,and the track indicator button turns to T: YELLOW, drivers are tocrease racing for position, and gently slow down and be alert for asituation anywhere on the track and proceed around at reduced paceto catch the Safety Car queue.

    a) At Road Circuits, pit lane will remain open when the Safety Car isdeployed. The pitlane exit will close when the SC queue is passingthe pit exit. Exiting a closed pit exit will result in a drive-through

    penalty to be taken after the restart.b) At Oval circuits, pit lane will close until all cars are satisfactorily in

    queue. The pitlane exit will close when the SC queue is passingthe pit exit. Exiting a closed pit exit will result in the driver beingordered to restart from the back of the line..

    c) Cars stuck between the Safety Car and leader will be waved aroundit prior to a restart.

    3. The administration may recall the Safety Car and restart the race withnot all cars caught this is generally only used when wave-aroundcars are still catching.

    4. Should the Safety Car be deployed on the final lap, racing back to thecheckered flag is permitted, although drivers are to be aware of anyincident.

    5. The Safety Car will turn its lights out as it gets the SC IN THIS LAPsignal.

    a) On road circuits, the Safety Car will accelerate away from the fieldat a predetermined point on-course after this signal.

    (1)The leader must maintain SC pace until such time that hedecides to accelerate.

    (2)Once the leader accelerates, he must not slow down again(except for natural slowing points).

    (3)The leader must not overtake the Safety Car until it has passedthe Safety Car Line, which is a chalk line placed at or near thepit entrance. Overtaking the SC before it crosses this line willresult in a Drive-Through Jump-Start Penalty to all cars whichovertake it prior to crossing the line.

    (4)The green flag will be displayed when the Safety Car crosses theSafety Car line, signaling that it is in pitlane. Overtaking isprohibited until your car crosses the start/finish line.

    b) On Oval circuits, the Safety Car will pull into pitlane immediatelyafter receiving the Inlap signal.

    (1)The leader must maintain SC pace until such time that hedecides to accelerate after a predefined point on the course.

    (2)Once the leader accelerates, he must not slow down again.

    (3)The green flag will be displayed when Race Control is satisfiedthat the restart is acceptable. No Green flag message, SAFETYCAR DEPLOYED or SC IN THIS LAP appearing on screen meansthe restart was aborted, and will be retried the very next lap.Overtaking is prohibited until your car crosses the start/finishline.

    6. No lapped cars will be waved around unless they are between theSafety Car and the leader.

    XII. Penalties

    1. Penalties within the Software.

    a) Drive-Through Penaltyb) Stop-and-Go penalty

    c) 30-Second Penalty

    d) 45-Second Penalty

    2. Further Penalties

    a) Holding Penalty

    (1)A car which gets a holding penalty must enter the pit lane andstop in a pitbox and wait there until cleared by administration to

    resume racing(2)A Stop-Go penalty will be assigned to ensure no pit service is

    carried out during the penalty.

    b) Post Race Time penalty

    (1)A post race Time penalty can be given for any incident duringthe race which has not been penalized during the race.

    (2)A announced time or amount of Laps will be added to the racers'result.

    (3)If the race ends under Safety Car, and the incident receiving the

    time penalty occurred before the final SC deployment, the timepenalty will be applied on the order at the last completed lapbefore the deployment. Any incidents after the deployment will

    see the time appended to the final result.

    c) Disqualification

    (1) Depending on the individual case a car can be disqualified forunsportsmanlike conduct.

    (2)Cars can be disqualified during the race or after the race. Cars

    disqualified during the race have to come to pit lane and will bespectated by the admins.

    XIII. Results

    1. Provisional Results will be published within five (5) hours after the raceby LFSCART Series staff.

    2. Official Results will be published after the protest period ends andprotests are responded to Points are calculated from the officialClassification.

    XIV. Championship

    1. The LFSCART Series Driver's Championship will be awarded to thedriver, which scored the most points during the season.

    2. The LFSCART Series Team Championship will be awarded to the teamwhich scored the most points during the season.

    a) Only the top 2 finishers of each team will score for the TeamChampionship.

    3. The LFSCART Series Owner's Championship will be awarded to the carwhich scored the most points during the season, regardless of whodrove the car.

    4. The LFSCART Series Nation's Cup will be awarded to the Nation whichscored the most points during the season.

    a) Only the best finisher of a Nation scores points towards thisChampionship.

    5. The LFSCART Series Female Cup will be awarded to the female racerwho scored the most points during the season.

    a) The Female cup will only be awarded if two or more female racersare entered in the LFSCART Series.

    6. The LFSCART Series Rookie Cup will be awarded to the Rookie driverwho scored the most points during the season.

    a) Drivers, who have competed in at least two rounds of an earlierLFSCART season are not eligible for this Cup.

    7. The LFSCART Series Chase Cup will be awarded to the driver whoscores the most points during the last two events.

    a) Drivers, who are in the Top-5 of the driver's championship are notscoring points towards this cup.

    8. The LFSCART Series Qualifying Trophy will be awarded to the driver

    with the lowest combined times from all Open-Session Qualificationson the season.

    a) Driver's who did not participate in a qualifying session will be

    assigned a time that is 112% of the fastest time of that session.

    a) All cars which participate in an event without being Disqualified willreceive points, regardless of amount of the race completed.

    b) The Kyoto 500 offers double points.

    c) Each race at the Martinsville Twin Indy 200 offers half points.

    d) If the race cannot be finished and less then 75% is completed, halfpoints will be awarded. Bonus points for Pole Position and Laps Ledare not halved.

    XV. Miscellaneous1. It is required that all drivers be present in specified voice

    communication software to be permitted to participate in the event.You are not required to have talkback capabilities, you must at leastbe able to listen.

    2. The Kyoto 500 will operate as an LFSCART Event, but under its ownruleset. All LFSCART entrants are automatically entered into the Kyoto500.
