I. General Series Information

1.The 2012 LFSCART Series (LFSCART) series is defined as a series running ten events in the

Live for Speed simulation software using the Formula V8 (FO8) car on a combination of road

and oval circuits.

II. LFSCART Car Restrictions

1.Drivers are restricted in the tyre compounds that they may use in LFSCART. Cars not using

an allowed compound will be black flagged and must change to an allowed compound.

a)Only R2compound tyres may be used on Ovals.

b)Only R2 and R3compound tyres may be used on Road circuits.

III.Sporting Code Clarifications / Notes

1.The Safety Car Procedure as stated in Sporting Code Article VIII is applied to this series.

2.All open configuration courses were measured using the method prescribed in Article VI,

1.1.a.

3.Please ensure you are aware of the Red Flag and Server Failure Procedures in the Sporting

Code. (Articles IX and X, respectively).

IV.Entry Procedure

1.There are 30 start positions available in the LFSCART Series. These spots are awarded based

on qualifying results.

2.Car Number 01 is reserved for the defending LFSCART Series Champion. Car Number 00 is

reserved for the defending Kyoto 500 Champion. These is the only numbers that may follow

a driver. All other numbers must follow the team.

3.All drivers will be granted an LFSCART License prior to being able to race in the LFSCART

series on that course type.

a)An Oval license is granted when a driver:

1.Has a hot lap uploaded to http://www.lfsworld.net using the FO8 , that is within

103% of the World Record on KY1.

2.Has a total equal to or greater than 300 online laps on KY1.

b)A Road License is granted when a driver:

1.Has a hot lap uploaded to http://www.lfsworld.net using the FO8 , that is within

103% of the World Record on any one of the following: BL1, KY2R, KY3R, SO4, WE1

2.Has a total online driven distance equal to or greater than 20,000 km (12,340 mi)

c)Both an Oval and Road license is granted when a driver:

1. Has placed 5thor better in the Driver's Championship classification in the 2010 or

2011 LFSCART Series

2. Has placed 3rdor better in the Driver's Championship classification in the LFSCART

Light Summer Series 2012, or the LFSCART Light Series 2012.

3. Has placed 3rdor better in a Kyoto 500 taking place in either 2008, 2009, 2010, or

2011.

4.Should a driver meet the entry requirements, then for some reason a benchmark changes,

the driver will still be permitted to race but is encouraged to update whichever requirement

was affected.

5.All cars are single-driver cars. A Team is a grouping of at least one but no more than four

cars.6.A team may change their drivers during the season as long as the new driver fulfills all entry

requirements.

7.No signup edits may be made starting at 23:59 UTC on the Friday before a race, and will not

re-open until 18:00 UTC on the Sunday following the race.

a)A team in need of urgent edits must appeal to race administration to request a waiver to

make the change

b)No changes shall be allowed or accepted later than 2 hours before the start of thequalifying.

c)Entry requirements will last be checked no later than 2 hours before the qualifying start.

A driver not meeting entry requirements for a round prior to this point will not be

permitted into that round.

V. Car Skins

1.All skins must fulfill the requirements as specified in the NDR sporting code, Article II.3, with

the following additions:a)Cars entered by a team may be presented in substantially different liveries

b)The driver's name and national flag must be placed onto both sides of the engine cover.

c)If two or more cars of a team have substantially identical liveries, the rear wing end plates

shall have different colors.

2.All skins must also contain all elements required by the published skin kit.

3.Failure to run a correct skin will result in a loss of all Owner's Points for that round.

VI.Qualifying Procedure

1.On Road Circuits:

a)Two concurrent 20-minute sessions.

b)Cars split into groups by a random sort based on confirmed entries. The groups will be

announced shortly before qualifying start.

c)Drivers may complete as many laps as they desire within the 20 minutes.

d)No driver is to leave the pitlane if there is less time remaining in the session than an

outlap would take. Pitlane exit will close at a time the administration deem too late for a

car to leave to start a timed lap.

e)Sessions will be held in the Hardcore mode - Drivers will not be permitted to telepit /

spectate and rejoin the session.

1.A driver will be permitted to telepit and rejoin at session start provided that driver

has not left his pit garage.

f)Following the completion of hot lap qualifying, the 6 fastest qualifiers will compete in a

Superpole session.

1.Each driver will be called out in order of qualifying times, slowest qualifier first.

2.Each driver will be given one flying, timed lap, and must complete an in lap at the

end of their timed lap.2.On Oval tracks:

a)One 45-minute session, using an automatic system, which will control the order and

inform drivers of their current status.

b)Each driver has one attempt to complete an out lap, two flying laps, and one in lap.

3.Any driver who is not within 107% (on ovals 103.5%) of the fastest time in Qualifying will

not be allowed to take part in the race.

a)This rule will not be enforced if the resulting grid would have less than 22 cars.b)On road courses, any driver who has set a time within 107% of the pole position during

the Official Free Practice Session may be allowed to take part in the race at administrator

discretion. To take advantage of this option, the driver must have made an attempt to

complete a lap in qualifying, defined as starting one hot lap.

4.Drivers who have not competed in the qualifying session may take part, if the grid has open

spots and the 107% (103.5%) rule is not enforced.

5.Should the qualification be stopped and not restarted, the race grid will be set by Owner's

Points. Cars not listed in owner's points when this is enacted will start from the back of the

grid in number order.

VII.Race Procedure

1.There will be one race per round.

2.Race Distance is the minimum number of laps to exceed a 200 mile race distance.

a)The Kyoto 500 will be 268 laps, for a distance of 496.336 mi.

b)Any LFSCART non-Kyoto 500 oval race at KY1 or KY1R shall be the minimum number of

laps to exceed a 310 mile race distance.

c)Any race on Autocross will be determined based on size and lap times at the track, as well

as race day schedule considerations

3.Each race has a time limit. Races are either their scheduled distance or 2 hours. Time limit

timing starts from either the green flag of the initial start (not the LFS start) or the second

start wave-off command. The Kyoto oval races have 3 hour time limits, the Kyoto 500 has no

time limit.

4.All entrants to a round must confirm their attendance no later than 2 hours before a round's

qualifying starts. The password to the server will only go to confirmed and licensed drivers.a)A driver may confirm up to 30 minutes before qualifying start, but will receive a end-of-

grid start penalty should they advance through the qualifying.

5.Starting procedure on the oval:

a)The Safety Car will lead the grid through two formation laps.

b)In the last sector, the grid shall sort into formation.

1.The grid shall be in generally even rows of two with odd positions on the inside and

even positions on the outside of Turn 1.2.Between the inside and outside lines there shall be at least 1 car width.

3.All cars shall keep 3 car lengths to the car in front.

4.After the Safety Car turns into the pit lane, the field shall keep 80 kph, 49 mph.

c)The Green Flag signal starts the race. Once the Green Flag is out, overtaking is permitted.

6.Starting procedure for Road Circuits:

a)The pole sitter will lead the grid through one formation lap. All cars will leave large gaps,

and generally travel at Safety Car Speed.

b)Entering the grid area the cars shall slow down.

1.Drivers are to stop in the next available grid slot marked on course.

2.After all cars are observed to be in their grid slots, race control will display a

message stating All cars in position. 10 seconds to lights! - A head-up display will

show the darkened starting lights.

3.After the 10 seconds have elapsed, the set of 5 lights will turn red from left to right,

one second apart.

4.After all 5 red lights are illuminated, there will be a hold of between 2 and 5 seconds.

When the lights extinguish, the race is underway.5.Should the start be aborted, all lights will turn yellow and a message saying Start

aborted! Begin another formation lap! will be displayed. All cars shall repeat the

formation lap and return to the grid. Official scoring starts with this lap.

6.Jumping the start will result in a Drive-Through Penalty. The system will alert

administrators to any jump starts, which will be automatically investigated.

VIII.Autocross Procedure

1.For the round at the Autocross circuit, a special format is to be used to determine the racers,as grid size is limited to 16, making 15 to include the use of a Safety Car.

2.Qualifying will take place as per oval qualifying.

3.If there are 15 or less cars in attendance, all 15 will race in order of qualifying times.

4.If there are 16 or more cars in attendance, the following procedure will be used:

a)The top 4 fastest from qualifying will be locked in to the main race.

b)All other drivers will race their way in through 20-lap heat(s). If there are more than 15

needing to race their way in, the cars will be split evenly.1.The top finishers in the heat race(s) will transfer. 10 spots will be up for the taking

from the heat races, split evenly if more than one heat race.

c)The fastest driver who did not race their way in will fill the 15thgrid spot for the main race.

5.A driver may reset at the autocross circuit during the race, provided he does so only within a

marked pit box in the pit lane. Any other use of reset will result in a DQ.

6.The autocross race will use the oval race start procedures.

IX.Official Classification

1.All drivers and cars which start an LFSCART race will be classified in the results and given

points, provided that they complete 75% or more of the race distance and are not

disqualified.

2.Bonus points will be awarded regardless of amount of the race completed.

3.Drivers who time out or lose connection to the server while racing may not rejoin the race in

progress.

4.If a team retires without permission of race control from outside of a pit garage, they will

incur a five (5) point penalty for the first offense, ten (10) points for the second offense, and

series exclusion for the third offense.

X. Championship

1.There are eight official championships of LFSCART

a)The LFSCART Series Driver's Championship is awarded to the driver who scores the most

points in the season.

b)The LFSCART Series Teams Championship is awarded to the team which scores the most

points in the season.

1.Only the top two finishing drivers of a team may score points to this championship.

c)The LFSCART Series Owner's Championship is awarded to the car number which scoresthe most points in the season

1.Each car number scores points regardless of driver.

d)The LFSCART Series Nation's Cup is awarded to the nation which scores the most points

in the season.

1.Only the best finisher of a nation scores points towards this championship.

e)The LFSCART Series Rookie Cup is awarded to the driver who is a rookie to LFSCART, who

has scored the most points on the season.1. A driver will be considered a rookie who has participated in not more than 2

LFSCART races in total from any of the previous seasons.

f)The LFSCART Series Oval Trophy is awarded to the driver which earns the most points on

an oval track in LFSCART.

g)The LFSCART Series Road Trophy is awarded to the driver which earns the most points on

a road course in LFSCART.

h)The LFSCART Series Qualifying Trophy is awarded to the driver which has the closest

percentage away from pole.

1.A driver must participate in three or more qualifying sessions to be eligible for this

award.

2.A 10 point bonus will be awarded to a driver who attempts to race at each race of the

season. After one missed round, the bonus is reduced to 6 points. After two missed rounds,

the bonus is reduced to 3 points. The bonus is eliminated if the driver misses more than two

rounds.

a)Attempting to race is defined as establishing a qualifying time and missing the cut to

race, OR starting the race for any driver who makes the qualifying cut.b)The participation bonus will be applied to the following championships in the following

manner:

1.Driver's: Per driver basis

2.Teams: Not counted

3.Owner's: Per Car Number basis

4.Nation's: Not Counted

5.Rookie: Per driver basis6.Oval: Based on oval participation only, can differ from Driver's and Road Bonus

7.Road: Based on road participation only, can differ from Driver's and Oval Bonus

3.Should there be a tie for most laps led, both drivers will be awarded the bonus point.

XI.Communication

1.Race administration will also be available in a voice chat server during the course of the

race.

a)On road course races, voice chat is strongly recommended, but failure to be in will only

result in participation refused at administration discretion.

b)On ovals, voice chat is compulsory, and failure to be in designated voice chat server will

result in prohibition to participate in the event.

2.Blocking of in-game messages is prohibited and will result in a warning to the team to

unblock messages. If the messages remain blocked, a DT penalty will be issued to the team.

3.Chat is prohibited during any session. In qualifying, there will be one fastest session lap

removed for chat on a per line basis. In the race, a DT penalty is issued. Repeat offenses

may merit an SG penalty.

XII.Miscellaneous

1.Failure to format a driver name correctly will result in a 5-point penalty to the driver. Please

see the NDR Sporting Code for the correct format.

2.The administration reserve the right to modify this document at any time for any reason it

deems fit.
