– The LFP WORLD CHALLENGE is a program createdin 2014 by the Spanish Professional FootballLeague with the support of the SpanishGovernment, the National Sports Council and theSpanish Institute for Foreign Trade.

– An initiative to bring professional clubs over theworld closer together to internationally projectthe image of Spanish football, spread the valuesof our country’s brand and generate newopportunities for all parties involved stagingcultural, PR and corporate events.

– With a yearly participation of Athletic Club,Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC and Valencia CFalongside other key clubs of La Liga to enhance thequality and consistency of the events and programoverall.

The overall program is structured by the following sub-brands, each standing for different events to be held until2017:

• La Liga World – Exhibition football series between mostpopular domestic clubs and best representative teamsfrom La Liga.

• Spain Experience - Cultural and corporate events heldparallel to football matches.

• La Liga Legends - PR events and meetings with some ofthe best former players (legends) from La Liga.

• La Liga Promises - Youth tournaments between La Ligagrassroot and other international clubs.

• Champions of Spain – Showcasing other successfulSpanish sport disciplines around the world.

Key Facts

– A series of professional football exhibitiongames in different territories over the 5continents between some of the key clubsin La Liga and most popular local clubs or,directly, between teams from La Liga.

– The 3-year exhibition matches (2015-2017)will end with a world-class footballtournament including the participation ofsome of the most successful Spanish clubsin history and other previous participants ofLa Liga World. Criteria such as performanceon the pitch and fair play in previousmatches would drive the selection process.

– This final event will be the culmination ofthe 1st edition of the LFP World Challengeand will be hosted in one single territoryduring the 2017/18 pre-season.
