Lex Gilette Is the current Para-Olympic World record holder in the long jump, a three time U.S. Para- Olympic medalist, the reigning world champion in the long jump and a 16-time national champion. He is the only totally blind athlete in the world to eclipse the 22-foot barrier in the long jump, and has achieved medal-winning performances at every major international competition he has attended to date. “Where does my energy come from? Maria RunyanIllness in childhood has left her legally blind. She received a B.S. in Education of the Deaf, and a M.S. in Education of Deaf-Blind Children in 1994. In 2000 Runyan became the first legally blind person and Paralympian to compete in the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Since 2001, Runyan has served as the first Ambassador for the Perkins School for the Blind. In 2001, she co-wrote and published her autobiography, No Finish Line: My Life As I See It. Marla currently resides in Eugene, Oregon, with her husband and coach Matt Lonergan, whom she married in August 2002. Marla and Matt became parents to their daughter, Anna Lee Runyan Lonergan, on September 1, 2005.

Andrea BocelliAndrea Bocelli was born 1958 in Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy. As a child, he learned to play the piano, flute and saxophone. Visually impaired from birth, Bocelli became blind at the age of 12 following a soccer injury. His big break came when a demo tape landed in the hands of Luciano Pavarotti. His 1995 album Bocelli did well in Europe and 1999's Sogno became an international hit. He remains one of the world's most popular singers today.
