Which clip do you need? According to the tile thickness

Levelling System - Clips and Wedges

Peygran® levelling system ensures flatness between tiles avoiding movements during the mortar setting.

This reduces the time for the ceramic laying obtaining a perfect lippage-free finish.

A fast and 100% effective tool.

Clips for CeramicClips are made of high quality material, which allows clips to be highly resistant to traction so that heavy pieces can be adjusted fast and effectively.

Clips have side cuts (patented), which allow us to remove them easily, just with a knock on the side in the joint direction, when the work is finished (mortar set-ting).

Clips for StoneStone clips are particularly designed for granite, stone and marble. Allow us to work between 16 and 30 mm.

More resistant than the usual crosshead in order to adjust heavy formats. Between 16 and 20 mm, use it together with the special wedge-base to ensure tightening. Use the same wedge as for the ceramics crosshead.

WedgesWedges have saw-shaped teeth to be adjus-ted to the crosshead precisely and achieve top efficiency. The wedge base is round not to damage ceramics. Wedges can be reused.

Levelling Bracket 25

LevellingBracketWe introduce the new complementary product to the Peygran® Levelling System: the Leve-lling Bracket.

It makes the tile installation easier and more precise when it comes to the 90º angle in cor-ners, projections, lintels, etc. In addition, the new Levelling Bracket improves final results in steps. You can superimpose two pieces if you have two corners close to each other.

The Levelling Bracket has spacious gaps to faci-litate the clip placing.

The thickness piece has been created for tile pro-tection. When using it, you have to add 4 mm to the tile thickness on your pliers scale.

The main characteristic is its scale bar for the floor tile thickness (patented system). The scale bar allows us to adjust the tool to the pressure needed easily, quickly and effectively.

Ceramic Pliers is used between 3 and 15 mm thic-kness and the Stone Pliers between 16 and 30 mm.

Wedge-base is required for thickness between 3 and 5 mm and between 16 and 19 mm.

The parts in contact with the tile are made of plastic to avoid damages.

The Peygran Ergonomic Pliers for Levelling System minimises the fatigue and injuries caused by mus-cular overexertion during tiling and flooring works, creating perfect finishes with less time and effort.

Prevents the problems caused due to bending the wrists by aligning the rotation and push axes with the arm axes.

Peygran’s R & D department has designed this tool in close collaboration with a team of health and phy-siotherapy professionals, carrying out ergonomic tests with the aim of minimising risk exposure to avoid occupational diseases.

Levelling System - Wedge-base

Wedge-base

32

Wedge-bases have been made to extend the functionalities of our system allowing us to work with thicknesses from 3 to 5mm. Use it in thicknesses lower than 5 mm and in thic-knesses from 16 to 20mm. Place the clips under the wedge, allowing the wedge to be centered and providing a larger support surface.

Essential in cladding as they are very deli-cate pieces. When using it on the tool scale bar, add 4 mm to the piece thickness.

We will use it in:Thicknesses less than 5 mm (with the ceramic clip).

And thicknesses between 16 and 20 mm (with the stone clip).

Levelling System - Protection Plate

Levelling System Protection PlateSpecially designed to protect the tiles (specially in the case of delicate ceramics and fine thick-ness) when using the Peygran Leveling System.

The protection plate is placed under the wedge to achieve a perfect finish, eliminating the friction in the strength of the material and converting the lateral force into vertical pressure, preventing the mortar from squeezing up through the grout joints.

Avoids delicate materials such as natural sto-ne or glass from scratching and also avoids the premature wear of the components.

1º SET THE PLIERSSet the pliers to the scale accor-ding to the ceramics thickness.

5º TAP GENTLYWhen the tile is levelled, we recom-mend hitting gently to release tensions.

7º REMOVE THE SYSTEMAfter the necessary time, remove the clips by hitting on them with a rubber mallet or with your foot in thedirection of the joint (do not hit the wedges). The clip will always break by the side cuts, under the tile

8º REUSABLE WEDGESFinally, remove the wedges, the rest of the clip and grout the tiles.

4º TIGHTENRest the pliers as shown in the image and tighten to the maximumto level the tiles before the glue sets.

6º ALLOW FOR SETTINGWhen the surface is finished, allow the glue to set for the time recommendedby the manufacturer.

2º PLACE THE CROSSHEAD Spread the glue cement and then laythe first tile at the level. Introducethe clip at the ends of the tile(approx. 50mm).

3º INTRODUCE THE WEDGESWhen laying the adjacent tiles, introduce the wedges in the clips manually.

36

Page 14: Levelling System - Peygran

37

How many pieces do you need?If laying is not finished at the end of the working

day and will be continued the following day:Be sure to remove the fixing material or mortar on the last row of tiles by using the base of a clip to leave a small gap to allow you to insert the clip base the fo-llowing day.

The following day: fill the gaps left the day before with a trowel for edges and “fill” the back of the tile with mor-tar. Insert the clips and wedges and continue laying fo-llowing the same process.

Do not remove the wedges manually before breaking the system. The clip must be under tension to break correctly. If we-dges are removed earlier, such tension will be elimina-ted and thus not correctly broken. If not breaking appro-priately, as previously described, pull the clip with the pliers. It will break on the pre-factures and consequently, under the tile. Wedges can be reused.

Never install the levelling system at the tile corners.Installation will become more difficult, tile may break if tightened at the corner, apart from being very difficult to maintain the grout joint aligned.
