MY HOMESTAY Let me introduce my homestay. My homestay is located in 14 Ridgewood drive Welland. My homestay family were five members. The family included homestay mother, father, grandmother, Nigerian student Stephen and me. But a few days ago, grandmother passed away. So now our family are four members. My home-stay mother’s name is Denise. She is very kind to me and she takes care of me very well. She is 72 years old but she looks better than her age. She usually plays swimming for her in our house’s swimming pool. I accidentally saw the newspaper. The news was some story. “All students stayed in my homestay were satisfied with my homestay mother.” My homestay has opened since 1990. I think she has a positive mind. So I like my homestay mother too. Now I’m happy. I wouldn’t forget memory in Welland.

is 20th Mar 1988. He lived in Seoul before he came to Welland. He is a university student and

study-ing Physical education. He enjoys playing baseball and volleyball after school. Also, he

joined baseball and volleyball team. In baseball team, his position is a pitcher. In volleyball team,

his position is a setter. He likes all kind of Korean foods especially; he loves to eat Korean noodle, Pork and Kimchi stew.

I think, homestay is very good.

Because I can know about culture, manners and the history of the country. Also, I can learn a language the country and mingle with the local people.

I think the people here are very kind and friendly. To change the subject.

I will introduce my host family. There are 3people in my host family. Father, mother, and they have a daughter. Plus, now come stay here 3people my roommate.

My host father makes very delicious food. The most his make food is hamburger. My host mother is very kind of person. The daughter is a hoyden. But very cute.

I’m so happy. Because, I’ve had good host family.

Anna born in Japan in April, the 26th of 1994.

The city where she was born is Nakatakane, in Chiba, a very small city in the suburbs of Ichihara. She loves play the piano in her home, but she also like jogging and cooking. She can cook all types of food, but she prefer do cakes, biscuits and all type of sweets. Nowadays, she’s studying to be a stewardess, she loves travel too!

Since I came to Canada I’ve been living with a nice family form by the father, Gord, the mother, Anna, and the daughter, Lena. They have also a korean girl living with them named Erin, who speaks very well English. Anna is from Russia, so she’s a bit serious, but she’s a kind person when you know her. She went to Russia the last Friday, so I’m only living with Gord and Erin, because Lena is always out home with her boyfriend. The best part of my homestay is that I’m always speaking English, so every day I learn a new word like “supper”. I didn’t know that word, I used to say “dinner”. I love my stay in Canada, all the people are nice!

MY HOMESTAY

Fabiola was born in Asturias, Spain, the 95/10/13. The city where she was born is Oviedo. She likes horse riding, she do it since she was 9, but she likes read good books in the beach too. She loves the nature, so she is going to study geology at the University of Oviedo.

About My

homestay

Let me introduce my homestay family. Carol, Dunn, Eathen, Jose and me live

together. My home has a small and beautiful garden. Carol and Dunn who are

the hosts of my homestay always go to the garden to talk each other and

sometimes with beers. I also like to go to the garden. Sometimes I read books with coffee or do

homework and team projects with my friends.

Carol has tomatoes, onions and corns in her garden. So Carol often use them

to cook foods. Surely, taste is very very good.

NIAGARA FALLS

The Niagara falls, in the Niagara River and very popular place in Canada.

Niagara falls has many attractive sites. For example Hershey chocolate, Ferris wheel, Wendy’s,

Casinos, Boston pizza and Canadian falls.

I went to Niagara Falls so many times but I don’t go to Casinos

So I want to go to Casinos next time I will go to Casinos.

Niagara falls, more beautiful to watch at night in my opinion so I’d suggest that you see at

night with other people.

About the author

Jin Yeon OH is her Korean name, and her English name is Kristy. She is from Korea. She was born in Seoule, which a place in the south of Korea. Her birthday is on July 9 1990. She studies sports man-agement in Dankook University (Korea).

Her University career lasts four years, and she stays in the third course. She will finish the career the next year. She has one younger brother. He has 20 year, and he is in the military, because in Korea is obligatory. Her parents are business.

She loves listening to music. She likes balad music and Korean pop. She also likes watching sports TV and playing

tennis. And finally, she loves pasta, cheese and noodles. She hasn’t got animals, but she likes dog.

It was interesting for me to go the University of Toronto in my Toronto trip. First, The University of Toronto is the largest university in Canada so I could-n’t see all the buildings. The building was antique and beautiful. I couldn’t be-lieve these buildings were about over 100 years old because these were very strong.

Second, The University of Toronto’s Library has many books. The University of Harvard has largest amount of books and the Second is The University of

Toronto. It was a shame that I couldn’t here to see it.

Third, The University was the birthplace of insulin and has been affiliated with ten Nobel laureates. It was very surprising to know that the birthplace of in-sulin because I didn’t know where insulin discovered and who discovered.

TORONTO

I’ve been to Toronto twice. The first time

I was surprised. It was a big city, with

many different buildings. The streets

were crowded with people, many of

them were tourists. The streets were big

with a lot of shops, restaurants and

Starbucks. It was an amazing city. I could

see some people dancing and singing in

the streets, asking for money. I saw the

part of the city called Chinatown, where

there were many shops who displayed

fruits and vegetables outside.

I’ve also been there to watch a Blue Jays match, the atmosphere was incredible but the match was really

boring. There were people in blue everywhere with big hot dogs and drinks. The children shouted,

laughed, sang and enjoyed it a lot.

So, in my opinion, Toronto is a great city to live. While I was walking I imagined my life there in a few

years.

January 1995. She studies in Oviedo University the major of

Physiotherapist. Her hobbies are playing basketball and going out

Toronto Trip

I visited Toronto twice during my stay here.

The first trip, I looked around down town Toronto and I saw many beautiful

things. When I arrived there, I was very excited because Toronto was so different from Welland. I saw many tall buildings, a really huge Lake, a lot of shopping malls and Starbucks. Also I saw the new city hall and old city hall. Interestingly, they were thoroughly different style of architecture. The new city hall was very unique and beautiful. I heard that a person who built new city hall is Viljo Revell. He is a world-famous architect because he built the opera house in Sydney.

The second trip, I went to see a baseball game between the LA Dodger’s and

the Blue jays. I cheered for the LA Dodger’s. The LA Dodgers have a Korean player. That is why I cheered for the LA Dodger’s. After we saw the baseball game, we walked around Roger’s center at night. The night view was so amazing. So I hope to go to Toronto again if I ever get the chance.

Sunny (Sun-young Kim)

Her Korean name is Sunyoung and

English name is Sunny. She was born

in 1990.

She has studied Japanese in Dankook University.

She has two Japanese certificates. When she talks to Japanese

students, she looks like Japanese.

She traveled many another countries. She has been to Europe, USA and New Zealand.

Next year she will go to Ireland to study English.

She likes talking to other people so

she talks to me a lot. I think she is

funny because she makes people

happy.

Toronto

Toronto is a big city and very multicultural. There are

many people walking down the streets. The best

known of this city are the buildings and towers.

They’re very tall. There are people of all nationalities

and restaurants of all types. It means that Toronto is

like a big contrast. I think that Toronto is one of the

cities of Canada more visited. When I visited Toronto

the weather was so good but I believe that it’s a very

cold city in winter. To continue, i’ve also visited the

home of the Blue Jays. It was huge and had a lot of

music and expensive food. There I was watching a

game of them. It was so long and I arrived at home

around 1 am. The next week end I will visit Toronto

again and I’ll go up the CN Tower that is very famous

and I believe that it’s the most important tower in

Canada. Also I think that I’ll visit some island near the

city. I need to buy a ticket for a ride in the boat.

Finally I think Toronto is a beautiful city although I

could see many buildings that weren’t finished. Also there are a lot of shops and some of them

were so expensive. I was very happy in Toronto and I would like come back again. I believe that

Toronto is a city where you can find everything that you want.

books, sleeping, eating and going out with

her friends. She’s in Welland to learn and

improve her English because it’s very

important to find a job in Spain.

Life in Welland

I researched about Welland. I am doing homestay now in Welland.

I went to the Sew way moll on 28 June for the first time.

There are many clothes, food, cosmetic.

I bought a shampoo. Because I forgot bring it.

These cosmetics are cheep than Japan.

Then I don’t know how to pay Canadian money.

But I was taught that how to pay by a clerk.

After that, I went to there three times.

I’m very funny Because I like to go shopping.

About this Author AsuKa is Japanese. She was born in Saitama on the 28th of August, 1994.

She is studying in Sundai College. Her major is airline. She is good at

playing piano. Her favorite food is fruits. She likes drinking hot

chocolate. She is a versatile girl.

TIM HORTONS

Tim Hortons is a very popular coffee shop chain in Canada.

Tim Hortons can be seen everywhere in Canada.

Also, Niagara College has the coffee shop too. Everybody likes the coffee shop,

because Tim Hortons is cheaper than Starbucks.

Tim Horton was by a Canadians hokey player, Tim Hortons.

It is popular because the place is cheap and its coffee and foods,

especially muffins and donuts are delicious.

Marin was born in Tokyo, what is the capital of Japan in October of 1994, she is really cheerful and is

smiling all the time. She has a little brother called Aozora. She is studying at Sundai travel & hotel

college and loves listen to music, K-pop and Britney Spears.
