Jaipur: The Citizen Call Centre (CCC) meant for the people to avail information on govern- ment-run services, schemes and filing grievances will kick start from mid June in the state. The mobile-based governance sys- tem will have a common number connecting all the government departments with it. The department of informa- tion and technology is in its final leg of developing the necessary infrastructure for the call cen- tre. Several rounds of meetings and consultations with all the concerned departments have been completed. “We are expect- ing to launch the services by the June and will be rolled out in two phases. The first phase will have the facility of receiving public grievances and its redressal. In future we will integrate the sys- tem with many other facilities like e-district, e-mitra etc,” said G K Sharma, deputy director, IT department. Under the system any citizen can reach out to call centre through phone, SMS and email. The personnel at the CCC, for the first time will create a master da- ta of the applicant which will be linked with the caller’s number and email. As soon as the com- plaint gets registered it will be forwarded to the concerned au- thority of each department. Each complaint will have a spe- cific deadline and it will be man- datory for the officials to redress those complaints in a particular time frame. Once the complaint is ad- dressed, a message or a call will be made to the complainant in- forming him about the status. Employees at the call centre will also take the feedback and if the complainant is not satisfied it will be forwarded to higher au- thorities. Jaipur: “SHO, Vidhayakpuri Rajendra Di-wakar along with a police team was onnight patrolling when he spotted these menwaiting for a bus near Dhuleshwar Gardenon Ajmer Road. They looked suspicious andgot scared after seeing the police vehicle,”said Gupta. The officer said the duo wasfrisked and the police was shocked to recov-er the gold biscuits. The policemen alsofound Rs 73,000 cash from them.

“During interrogation it came up thatthe gold was being taken to Jodhpur. Jodh-pur-based Dwarka jewelers had bought thegold from Lawat Jewellers situated at MIRoad. The gold’s delivery was given by theBrinks Arya India Private Limited,” saidGupta.

The officer said there were several ir-regularities in the deal. “The gold deliveryin such huge quantities should not be doneat this hour, but it has come up that thestock company employees provided thegold to the duo after midnight. The MI Road-

based jeweler should have given bills andvouchers to the two men if the deal was le-gal,” said the officer.

He added that we also suspected them asthey were not escorted by armed guards de-spite carrying 30kg gold with them.

“Since hike in the import and excise du-ties on gold, the cases of gold smugglinghave increased. It also seems to be an at-tempt of evading taxes and duties, howeverbut investigation is on,” Gupta added.
