Greetings and WELCOME to my Steampunk Librarian ... Letty.

This little lady - was SOOOO many different projects ... my MUSE was probably having hot flash moments!! Cause --- no kidding --- she started out as Scarlet - turned to Leti - turned to Lora and then finally - the Librarian put her foot down and told me to stop my nonsence ... and became permanently Letty!

For those that ADORE steampunk ... can you imagine all the gadgets that would accent that wonderful leather jacket?

(This wonderful aged, distressed book with the turned back pages, and golden key cover - is by JIL. Cost is $5 - $7 depending on detail you want. Her email is [email protected] to pur-chase). No postage if item is put in your kit.

For traditional customers that see her as more of a ladylike Victorian, - she can easily be converted to that as well. (Yes the business woman in me - is always competing with my muse ... to find a happy medium that will sell - and yet be unique to my customers!)

I look forward to seeing your photos in the customer gallery ... for now ...

SIDE NOTE ..... I LOVE using Auburn hair lately ... but the base color is a bit BRASH. So I take a brown Sharpie marker and stroke color on - to soften original shade a bit.---------------------------------------------------

The GOAL of this wigging tutorial - is to show HOW to PULL hair curls - to achieve natural soft waves! OR ... think of adding curls to your hairstyle ... as EXTENSIONS. If you have a section that doesn’t lay right - glue in a curl to add volume!

DIRECTIONS:1. Cover your doll with plastic baggie to protect against all those tiny wigging fibers!

2. Pleat hair in 1/4” pleater to provide soft waves. I don’t blow dry the hair all the way dry ... but leave it a bit damp to flatten on table a bit (no rigid pleats wanted!).

3. Next do a basic wigging cross. If you are new and don’t know what this is - simply click to my YOU TUBE channel (DanaMarieBurton) to see all the free videos!

4. After you pull hair over head to back, gather and twist into a snakey rope bun. Put a dot of glue underneath to hold bun in place.

5. Wrap size 2 knitting needles with viscose to make curls. Blow dry.

6. Grasp both ends of curl with fingers and gently pull. You will see pretty little tendrils emerge. Cut and glue these by forehead to soften hairline.

7. Lastly - glue these along side of her neck for pretty side curls.

GLASSES ...The last prop Letty needs are glasses! She can hold these folded in her hand - or wear.

OPTION #1 I originally printed off a cat eye glass from the in-ternet. Then I put a piece of tape over top (matt) to give a bit of protection and cut out.

Next I bent the wire arms and glued on. Eventu-ally - this didn’t look steampunk enough for me ... so I went to option #2.

OPTION #2I took two silver jump rings, with a piece of met-al between. Glued. Then I went over the top of them with silver nail polish.

Lastly - I filled in lenses with clear fingernail pol-ish. These looked old and just right, so I glued them in her hand.

More tips and tricks will be shared in my online wigging class (free) ... but this gives you a good base for discussion.
