I am formally writing this letter to humbly request a permission to conduct an error analysis on English 1 ( Study and Thinking Skills) sections offered this First Semester S.Y. 2014-2015. Currently, I am working out the master’s thesis entitled “Analysis of Recurring Errors in the Writing of English 1 Sebuano Learners at St. Peter’s College,” at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, central to this study is to gather the written output of the samplings’ essays. The study to be conducted will become a significant contribution in providing information of the students’ common difficulties in language learning which could serve as a basis of educators’ preparation of teaching materials.

If approval is granted the research would start by gathering, first the list of English 1 sections with its respective number of students, offered this First Semester , at the Registrar’s office. In lined with this is again my humble appeal to your good office to provide consent regarding this matter. Upon conducting the research, the researcher will only perform the study within 1 hour and half for every English 1 sections. The data or result of this study will remain confidential and to be used only for educational purposes.
