I arn writing a letter in regards to the exceptional and very professional care

that has been given to my mother Helen I -.r by Dr. T. DeLengocky.. She has

been under his care since she was referred to him by one of your associates atBond that she also see's there, Dr. Mehta, who also is very exceptional with his

care and expertise to my morn.

This past year, my morn suddenly was having some ciiticalvision problems,

that she did not make me known of. You see, mom has never driven in her life, and she depends on me to take here everywhere. She lives alone in Canton, ll.

And I live in Glasford, ll. Your staff at both your offices are very pleasant at all

times, and very helpful to me and my mom. Appointrnents are never a problem,

and if mom has a problem, it is never a problem to get her in to see the doctor.

Well, mom had this eye problem with her seeing spots, blurry vision ect.. and

she called Dr. Mehta. He then referred her to Dr. Delengocky- We went to see .

Dr. Delengocky ASAP, as Dr. Mehta recommended. After Dr. Delengocky did a.

bunch of testing at the office, even in between seeing other patients that day, in'

the Peoria office, he still had time to explain to me.especially, what might be

going on with my mom. Mom does not understand a lot of medical things. Afterdoing and reviewing some tests he did in the office, he recommended that mom

see her family doctor ASAP . And to follow back up with him, Well to make a long

story short, Her family doctor was on vacation. And they told her she would not

be seen till he gets back in 2 weeks. When we went back to see Dr. Delengocky,

and told him what the office said, he was very upset. Due to the fact that he was

suspicious that mom could have a possible stroke due to some of the testing he

was doing in the office and by the information that I supplied of her history.

He then contacted her family doctor's office to inquire why she did not get in

to see why she could not see one of his associates, due to the possible severe

nature of the eye problems that mom was having. Mom and I were in the room

when the Doctor was on the phone with the office. They kept putting hirn on

l';olC Kept asking him, his.name, and why she needed,to be seen, ect.. B.asically

they were givinghim the run arour,d. I c, uid.nct be,li€ve this. Dr'. Deler,go-i:i,

was very calm and very patient with this office, even spelling his name severaltimes, and being put on hold and transferred to several receptionists and nurses. After all of this, they stated that they would call me with a appt. before 5pm. Sothis was near closing time for the office. ( this was the Pekin office) He took thetime and much patience to make sure mom was going to be seen to be sure thatshe was going to get the needed test to be done. After that on our way out, hetalked with me and gave me his cell phone number and asked for mine. He

wanted me to calt him to let him know if they gave mom a appt. ASAP. lf he didnot hear from me he was going to call me. I know that goes far and beyond whatmost doctors do. I commend him on that. I also know that a few nurses do that, but few doctors do that. He took the time to make sure that rny mom got theappt. She did.

Well, she had a Carotid Doppler, which showed she had a 9[o/oblockage in herSubclavian artery that is near her neck. Her family doctor immediately referredher to a neurologist. They admitted her that day for tests, to see if the blockagewas causing her vision problem. They discharged her the next day. Referred herto a Dr.Pula. he also spent a lot of time with my mom even with his busy :

schedule.

Dr. Pula then referred her to Dr. Hussain, who is a cardiologist with Heartcare'.Midwest. He went in and she has a blockage of that artery, and he now is goingto leave it alone for now. And do another Doppler soon.

My point of writing this letter is: lf it were not for Dr. Delengocky with his timethat he takes with all of his patients, explainingto them what is going on withihern, doing the testing needed, following up with them as he does, I know onething and I my self and mom has said, this would have not been caught, I meanthe blockage. Due to his testing he did at the office. I appreciated the time andcaring that he took the tirne to check on mom, and called me to make sure thatshe got followed up on. That art of doctoring is a lost art, Patient care shouldcome first. Unfortunatly, time seems to be money, and people are impatient, butif it was their family member or themselves, I am sure that they would like tohave the same done for. them. I know I appreciate a.doctor or a nu':se who

explains things to me. Or who at least treats you like a person, not a number.Life is busy for all of us.

Again, My Deepest thank to Dr. Delengocky for his time, caring and hisdevotion to his job and art of doctoring. And also thanks to Dr. Mehta, and all ofthe staff also, they all do a tremendous jobl.. Mom usually goesto the Cantonoffice due to she lives in Canton, and many thanks to the staff over there whomake mom feel at home. She says they are like "Femihl/'

Sincerely:

Daughter of Helen - r--
