To recruit students from the Middle School, Ty organized groups of students from his program to do demonstrations at the Middle School campus and for the two years the MS was housed on the HS campus he provided MS students a chance to tour the HS classroom / lab. Ty was one of those instructors that worked to develop student’s decision-making skills and design capabilities in building and testing models to help them understand the curriculum. Students who visited my classroom were very excited about the class and the hands-on nature of the work they were doing because of the enthusiasm and hard word that Ty was putting into the class and especially in fostering a STEAM environment that was very student centered. It was easy for me to push students toward taking his course as an elective greatly because of the efforts that Ty put into the class and the success of the kids.

Recommendation for Mr. Ty Fitzgerald

In the seven years that Ty worked at the Wyoming High School in the position of teaching: Introduction to Engineering, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and Aerospace Engineering he and I worked together in recruiting students to look at engineering as a career possibility and especially getting students to work in a STEAM / STEM program at the HS level.
