1 Letter from President The Roaring ‘20s EWI® Style Scholastic Classic Fundraiser is coming up later this month on April 29 at the Bernsen Community Life Center in downtown Tulsa. I look forward to cutting a rug with all you flappers and gangsters at this one- of-a-kind event. This event is the primary fundraiser for the EWI scholarship programs. The Ways and Means Committee has a ritzy evening planned for us that includes dinner, live and silent auctions, and music by Big Daddy and the Blueskickers. Be sure to invite your Executives, co-workers, and friends to join us. In September at the installation meeting, I encouraged you to “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” toward achieving your own personal, as well as our Chapter, goals—and to have some fun in EWI while accomplishing your goals. In March, the EWI of Tulsa Board met for a “middle of the road” review of our goals for the year. I am proud to report that despite some unique challenges and surprises this year, we are on track to meet our goals and have presented exciting programs. I would like to thank the team at Omni Air International for hosting EWI of Tulsa in their hangar on March 11, 2010. I appreciate Teri Edmondson, The William K. Warren Foundation for providing the invocation for the evening. I was thrilled to learn more about the history of Omni Air and especially the missions they complete with the military to aid with disaster relief and the movement of troops. Their commitment to the Tulsa community, safety and most of all to their employees was inspiring. It was a pleasure to meet Rob Coretz, Owner and Chairman as well as EWI Executive, and Jeff Crippen, President and Chief Executive Officer. I would like to thank Omni Air International for their support of EWI of Tulsa and recognize their three representatives: Alandra Baggett, Director of Senior Finance; Melanie Dennis, Staff Accountant; and Kay Boswell, Staff Accountant. Thank you again for a great Firm Night. I continue to hear members comment on how much they enjoyed the evening. You may identify with the stories in a way that will unlock the mysterious and make it the norm, allowing you to “live life full-throttle.” Mary Lou Dobbs, EWI of Albuquerque, was moved to write Repotting Yourself so she could share the story of how she gave up a life of struggle. She shares in her book how women can break away from self-imposed limitations, slumps, and a root-bound mentality while discovering financial and emotional independence. The author writes about women who have chosen an exciting next stage and discusses coaching techniques to motive women to thrive and flourish by giving up the safe and predictable. Presented by: Mary Lou Dobbs, EWI of Albuquerque Details: This dramatic story of a sudden and spontaneous motorcycle purchase opens Repotting Yourself, Financial-Emotional-Spiritual Flow (www.repottingyourself.com), the second and newest book by award-winning sales professional Mary Lou Dobbs, to be published this April by London-based O Books (www.o-books.com).
