I know Bruce sine he joined my research group in the Fall of 2011. During that time, as one of the key members, he was actively involved in the design and construction of a high-pressure research laboratory. Starting from cleaning the lab space, he participated in choosing and purchasing scientific parts and instruments, assembled the laser source and Raman spectrograph together by using related optical components (lenses, objectives, notch filter, mirrors), and carefully aligned the whole system for receiving the optimized Raman signals from tiny sample (usually ~ 50 micron in diameter) compressed in a diamond anvil cell for the high pressure research. Because he participated in lab construction through enrolling in a research class of regular semester, the limited class time did not allow him to complete the lab construction entirely, but his work gave a good base for the later completion. Currently, the high-pressure lab is well equipped and functionalized for carrying out the frontier research. Bruce received hands- on experience and training though this project. In the same time, his engagement and dedication reflected the facts that he can quickly enter into a new research area, learn new knowledge, find correct means to address the problems encountered in scientific research or instrumental development. Bruce has pleasant personality, hard work habit, and spirit of cooperation. All these qualities make him suitable for pursuing the business success with team effort. I, therefore, recommend him without any reservation. Sincerely Yours, Yuejian Wang

Jan.  22,  2015  Reference  letter  for  Mr.  Bruce  Silver    To whom it may concern:

It is my pleasure to write this letter in strong support of Mr. Bruce Silver’s job application.

Bruce received hands-on experience and training though this project.
