The hall featured a display of quality work, with each student having a contribution. The full range of subject areas across the school were captured as part of this display. From this display one item per class will be chosen to frame for display throughout our administration building. Two awards per class were presented to students who have shown significant progress, commitment or progress in 2018. We enjoyed a dance display and listened to our stage 3 students discuss the importance of having a growth mindset before we returned to the classrooms, with parents joining in activities with the students and teachers. Term 4 2018 This Friday is the last day of term 3, with the new term commencing on Monday 15 October for both staff and students. There is no school development day at the commencement of term 4. Two school development days are gazetted following the end of term for students on Wednesday 19 December. Kindergarten and Preschool 2019 Expressions of interest for enrolment in 2019 are currently being considered. Please approach the office for an enrolment package. Kindergarten is for children who will be 5 or older by 31 July 2019. Preschool is for children who will be turning 4 by the 31 July 2019 and who will be attending kindergarten in 2020. Before school supervision NSW public schools provide supervision for 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the school day. At LPPS out school day starts at 8.55am, with supervision commencing at 8.25am. Prior to this time school staff are not required on site and sending students to school early places them at risk. Should before school arrangements present difficulties for parents I encourage the use of networks to support each other or exploring the range of OOSH facilities available. NAPLAN results Last week NAPLAN results were sent home to parents of students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across NSW. Each school uses these results to determine areas of strength within the school and areas in which we can specifically target teaching to enhance student outcomes. LPPS has a number of areas to recognise success, including significant gain on state levels in year 3 grammar, punctuation and numeracy. Our year 5 students showed growth greater than that of NSW in all measured areas, a reflection upon the increasingly strategic approach to teaching and learning. A particular highlight is shown below — the green represents LPPS growth, the black is similar schools and the pink is NSW. The LPPS score of 106.1 points growth has far outstripped by both similar schools and growth across all NSW students. Luke Hubbert Principal

Education Week

Thank you to all who joined us for yesterday's education week events. The hall featured a display of quality work, with each student having a contribution. The full range of subject areas across the school were captured as part of this display. From this display one item per class will be chosen to frame for display throughout our administration

building.
