    Sweeney is on stage wiping down the front counter of "Sweeney's Soda Shop". Rhonda issweeping the floor. A huge group of kids come through the backdoor of the auditorium

    and run up the center aisle to the stage.)

    I remember back in September, You were so nervous to start High School.

    MARGRET

    It was a lot less harder than I thought, Right Betty?

    (Betty is preoccupied with her Magazine.)

    MARGRET

    This year was a lot easier than we thought, Right?

    BETTYOh Yes, I was not looking forward to learning Algebra.

    That's why at the end of the Summer I'm closing up shop.

    This can't be just any variety show.

    RANDY

    If we want people to come and pay money to see the show we have to give them theirmoneys worth.

    MARGRET

    We should write our own songs, produce huge musical numbers!
