Union Square is proud to announce the renewal of our LEED certification and achievement of the highest level, Platinum status, for both One and Two Union Square. It is through our building strategies and practices that we continue to achieve great recognition for environmental sustainability. We’d like to thank all of our tenants for helping us reach this elite group of buildings world-wide that have earned this certification.

Here are a few certification highlights reached by both buildings:We implemented an Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy for purchases made throughout the building, including: ongoing consumable office supplies, electronic equipment, furniture, light bulbs with reduced mercury, and sustainable construction and building materials.

Our Solid Waste Management Policy sets an aggressive recycling rate goal of 50% and addresses the diversion of ongoing consumables, electronics, furniture, batteries, and light bulbs.

Our tenant engagement and education program continues to focus on increased sustainability after LEED recertification.
