They have just looked at the Cold War as they draw to the end of the topics on 20 th century history. They are in the middle of their history reports – some students have cold war related topics for their reports. Syllabus Outcomes Lesson Outcomes (Students will be able to know and do) Students will know about the basic facts of the Vietnam War. Students will appreciate how war can divide a society. Assessment of the outcomes (How will I assess that students have achieved/demonstrated the outcomes?) I will observe the students work during the lesson as they complete their activities. I will collect the letter to the PM at the end of the lesson. Classroom Management Considerations (What do I know about key aspects of the learners’ behaviours? How will I manage the behaviours of the learners throughout the lesson? What strategies do I need to use?) I need to keep students focused on the task, and provide variety – don’t stick to any one thing too long. Anticipatory Set (How do I settle students/prepare them for lesson/encourage participation/motivate?) I will begin with class discussion of interesting facts found at home doing their history report. The students can discuss this as I prepare the classroom, handouts etc. Time Teacher direction/activit y instruction Student activity / what students are doing Check for understandin g / key questions / manage the learning Resources 9am Ask students to discuss any Listening and Possibly whiteboard document.docx Page 1
