    LESSON PLAN

    A. Students and SettingStudents:

    Teens between 15-16 years old with intermediate proficiency. There are 24 students in the class. All of themare from Venezuela. Their native language is Spanish.Sett ing:Public school where students are studying English as a Foreign Language. Students do not haveaccess to wi-fi or LCD projector. The classroom has a whiteboard, speakers and a mp3 player. The desks inthe classroom are round with 3 chairs each one (when students get into the classroom, they sit in groups ofthree randomly). There are 8 tables and 24 chairs. Classes are 60 minutes long and meet once a week.

    B: Lesson BackgroundStudents have been working with the new OPD (Oxford Picture Dictionary), second edition. They have

    already reviewed and studied 16 units from that dictionary. They will work in teams to play the Scrabble

    game. Each group will bring the scrabble game. All the groups have already been created by themselves.

    C. Learning Objectives/Expected Results

    Students will be able to review and put into practice what they have been learning so far in the course.Moreover, they will have the chance to practice: speaking (they can say if the word exists, its meaning and if

    the word is correct or not), reading (they will be reading the words while they are placed on the board),

    listening (they will hear their classmates while they are explaining the meaning of words), writing (they will

    work on written spelling). By the end of the game, students will have integrated different language skills

    and used metacognition in a fun way naturally.D: Materials and SourcesMaterials

    started, the teacher will bemonitoring the groups and

    supporting the students if there

    is a question about a word.
