Writing at Home!Here are some helpful hints for writing

with your child at home

• First plan your sentence, what are you going to write? How many words are in your sentence? Let’s count how many words we are going to write and check we have included them all at the end

• Remember to start a sentence with a capital letter.

• When sounding out a word, listen to the first sound, the final sound and then the middle sound. Can you put them altogether to write a word?

• Use finger spaces between your words.

• Try to form your letters carefully on the line (use the letter formation techniques page to assist )

• Don’t forget a full stop at the end of a sentence.

• Remember to have fun!
