14 people between 16 and 50 years old. 12 of them students and 4 adults

Previous knowledge:

There is not previous knowledge.

Main aim:

By the end of the lesson students should have proved when he’s and she’s are used and they will be able to introduce other people as well.

Activity # 1 Game (ice-breaker)

Time 5 - 7 minutes

Objective To break the ice between the Ss and the T

Language to be used I am…

ProcedureT says his name and then throws a ball to one S and she/he has to repeat the T’s name and says his/her name. When he/she passes the ball to the next student, he/she says the two previous names and his own before passing the ball. When the list starts to get long, encourage the students to help each other remember forgotten names. After the ball makes it back around to you, mix it up by tossing or rolling it to a random student. After he repeats your name and his own, he passes it to another random student to continue the activity.

Activity # 2 Presentation (he’s / she’s)

Time 10-15 minutes

Objective To introduce “he’s” and “she’s” and make Ss to realize that “he’s” is for a men and “she’s” is for a woman.

Language to be used He’s Tom Cruise.He’s from Ney York.He’s an actor.She’s Madona.She’s from Bay City.She’s a singer.

Procedure T sets the context T shows the 1st flashcard and says the 1st

sentence (3 times, 2 slowly and 1 normal) Choral repetition (3 times) Individual repetition (3 times) T shows the 2nd flashcard (elicit)

*gives the sentence if nobody says it Choral and individual repetition Backtracking Repeat until the 6th flashcard T checks concept by giving false statements

Activity # 4 Game (memory)

Time 10-15 min.

Objective Review the numbers from 1 to 10

Procedure T shows two different flashcards one with the number “1” and another how the number is written “one” and then T puts the face of the flashcards against the board in order to make a memory game when T finishes putting all the flash cards on the board Ss will start playing the game which one Ss will stand up and open two card one with the number and another how the number is written if the two cards are suited the Ss got a point if not they have to turn them. This step will be repeated until finish the game.

Time 7-10 minutes

Objective To make Ss to prove that they can use “he’s and she’s” correctly and give phone numbers by saying “his/her phone number is…” which will be used to make them to five numbers.

Language to be used He’s/She’s

His/Her phone number is… this phrase is given to the Ss to make them produce the numbers.

Procedure T divides the group into pairsT gives and checks instructionsSs pick a card which will contain information about famous people which Ss will use to introduce the characters on the card and they have to invent a phone number to give.

Anticipate problems Ss may confuse the personal pronouns by telling “She” instead of “He” or vice versa.Ss may not understand instructions
