Built – in facilities provided by windows are known as windows applets. They are as follows;

Entertainment:- Sound recorder, volume control and windows media player can access by this option.

Calculator:- Standard and scientific calculator can be used by this option.

Command prompt:- DOS commands can be run by this option.

Communication:- New network connection can be set and accessed by this option.

Accessories and Control Panel•Control Panel :

The control Panel is used to manage most of windows configuration settings. The control panel is actually a system folder that contains a no. of individual utilities that let you adjust and configure various system properties e.g. Add/Remove H/W Add/Remove programs Mouse Display properties Date & Time Fonts Taskbar and start menu Network setup wizards User Accounts Regional Settings

MS - Paint

Accessories and Control Panel

-Paint prog. is used to create a Bitmap image file.-.BMP is the extension name of Paint file-We can set Bitmap image to our desktop or background with File Set as background command

Color BoxTool Box

Free form select:- This tool is used to select any portion of an image freely.

Select:- This tool is used to select symmetrical portion of an image.

This component is used to create Bitmap images.

Eraser:- This tool is used to erase any portion of an image, as well as any selected color of an image.

Fill with color:- This tool is used to fill colors in any part of an image.

Pick color:- This tool is used to select any color from given image or part of an image.

PAINT

Magnifier:- This tool is used to magnify the canvas.

Line and Curve:- First tool is used to draw straight lines and another is to draw curved lines.

Pencil:- This tool is used to draw a picture.

Brush:- This tool is also used to draw a picture or to fill colors in pictures.

Airbrush:- This tool is used to fill color by spray.

Text:- This tool is used to write any text.

Rectangle/Polygon/Ellipse:- Tool shown are used to draw rectangle/polygon/ellipse or rounded rectangle.

Wordpad

WordPad is used to create a document file with limited formatting optionWe can set paragraph margin, alignment, font color, picture, etc. in WordPad file

It is a built-in text editor offered by windows.

File:- This menu is used to create new file, open existing file, save file, save file as another name and to another place. File page can also be set and printed with printer attached.

Edit:- This menu is used to cut, copy, paste or delete selected portion of file. Any phrase can also be found by this menu which can also be replaced with specific work phrase. Date and time can also be inserted in text document.

NOTEPAD

Format:- This menu is used to wrap the text to a confined windows. Font, font style and font size can be set by the font option.

Help:- This menu is used to help user about all the features included in Notepad application. Help can be used in indexed manner or search manner. Help contents can also be viewed as a book.
