Worldspan’s Hotel Select is one of the most advanced hotel packages in the industry. It features a geographical code system, indexing over 235 hotel chains and 55,000 hotel properties. The Worldspan Hotel Select system allows the subscriber to display hotel lists, hotel availability, hotel detail, and sell any available room type for participating hotel associates. The first topic to discuss is hotel chain codes.

This page lists participants, their chain code, the Worldspan ID for the specific associate (SID), their communications link, whether the associate participates in cancellation numbers and the entry to access their GRS information.

• The Communications Link column indicates AccessPlus or non- AccessPlus participation.

• The CX NBRS column indicates YES if the hotel chain returns a cancellation number. An asterisk * in CX column indicates additional information on cancellation number processing is present.

• The last column is the entry to access the hotel associate’s Global Reference System (GRS).

Hotel List


The first step in selling a hotel is to request a list of hotel properties for the desired location.

To ensure location accuracy, each hotel property is indexed in the Hotel Select database by reference points. A reference point is a city, airport, location or other point of interest referenced by the hotel. Hotel lists are requested in several ways:

• By city or airport code • By state or country code and reference point • By reference point code or name • From an area list

The system searches only those hotel properties requested, based on the specified options. All options identifiers followed by specific data require a dash as a separator between the code and the data. Although the dash is not mandatory for all of these options, the dash is used for consistency.

Option Description /AD- Used to display a hotel list using the hotel street

address as a search parameter (e.g., /AD-1847 CHAPULTEPEC BLVD).

/C- The chain code option is used to limit a request to specific hotel chain. To request a hotel list using the Hotel Loyalty participant code (all hotel chains associated to the company), see HC-LOYALTY.

/D-

/D

The arrival date is assumed when requesting a Hotel List from the PNR segment. The departure date is automatically appended from the subsequent air segment and does not have to be manually included. Arrival and departure dates must be manually typed when a PNR segment does not exist.

/DD- The distance and direction option is used to specify the maximum distance and/or direction from the city, airport, or reference point to the hotel property. The system assumes a 40-mile radius from the reference point if no /DD- data is specified. Radius up to 75 miles can be requested. A range of distance can be requested. Maximum of – 3 numbers for distance - 2 letters for compass point direction.



Option Description /H- Hotel property name option is used to request hotel by

name as stored in hotel database. It is valid with HL, HA, and HN entries.

/MR-

The maximum rate option is used to list hotel properties within a specified rate range. This option is verified solely within the Worldspan database. It is not verified through the associate link.

/NP- The hotel system requires a number of persons field, which can be entered after the out date (/D-DDMM2) or in the /NP- option field /NP-2.

/PH- Used to display a hotel list using the hotel phone number as a search parameter (e.g., HLATL/PH-7702223333)

/SC- The same country option is used to request only those hotels within the same country. This option is most helpful when requesting a hotel list in Europe.

/Z- The postal or zip code option is used to request hotel properties within a specific zip code.

/AM- Used to search for hotel properties that have one of the requested amenities, e.g. HLATL/AM-BC-CB. See list of amenities at HG*AM

/PR- Used to search for hotel properties within a specific classification like Luxury, e.g. HLATL/PR-LH. See list of property types at HG*PR.
