Lesson 5 Transistion Y6.notebook
Transition to Secondary School
Lesson 5
Making mistakes
Lesson 5 Transistion Y6.notebook
I want you to now close your eyes: Hands up if you’ve ever made a mistake?
Mistakes are part of life and actually provide us with the best learning opportunities. However, some mistakes are not so good and can make us feel bad – sometimes they have serious consequences. BUT we need to change
the way we look at mistakes.
Think about what mistakes you have made today or any past mistakes ‐ it could be that you forgot your lunch/that it was a PE day/woke up
late/made an error in math
Mr Robbins and I will do the same
The key thing is what did you learn from that mistake!
Lesson 5 Transistion Y6.notebook
Reflect on a mistake you have made and explain what you learned from it.
What will they do differently next time?
Plenary
Are mistakes a bad thing? Can you always learn from mistakes?
How can you change your mind set so that mistakes are a positive thing?
