Welcome back! Last week we talked a little about what is writing. This week we are going to talk more about writing and something called the writing process. By the end of this lesson, you should know what the writing process is and the first step of it.

Pre-WritingTakes place before you write.It’s the way you gather ideas so you know
what you want to write.Any time you think about what you want to
put down on paper, you are pre-writing.
Whatever you call it…
Ideas are what you are going to write about. If it’s a story, an essay, a text or a letter. You fill your written communication with ideas.
Ideas should be INTERESTING and RELEVANT.

A Special DayFind a picture of a special day. Not just any day, but something really special. Write down as many details about that day as you can.
• Field trip to Krispy Kream•First field trip of the year•My family and two other homeschool families from church•We saw how they make donuts•The sugar shower •Best part- donuts afterwards
Homework this week: Now it’s you turn. Grab a picture of a very
special day and list as many details as you can about that event.
Write a personal narrative about your special event. Word count (250-500)
