Before you apply, find out what the job involves, how many hours a week it is, and when you will be expected to work

A cover letter is a business letter that accompanies an application or resume. Use it to introduce yourself, highlight your skills, and request an interview.

A resume is a document that summarizes your education, skills, and work experience.

References are adults (not family members) who know you and can talk about your good qualities.

A job interview is a great time to practice code-switching. Introduce yourself with a firm handshake and make eye contact.

Once you’re hired, you need to get a work permit

If you are under 18, you need a work permit. The government requires this to encourage young people to stay in school and not start working full-time until they have graduated from high school.
