• The three main functions in trigonometry are Sine, Cosine and Tangent.

angle x• "Hypotenuse" is the longest line

Sine Function: sin(x) = Opposite / Hypotenuse

Cosine Function: cos(x) = Adjacent / Hypotenuse

Tangent Function: tan(x) = Opposite / Adjacent

such that y2 = x, the function y = arcsin(x) is defined so that sin(y) = x
