End of Summer Festival Thank You Dear Friends, I want to sincerely thank all of you who attended last Sunday’s End of

Summer Festival! With so many changes being made this year – from the

weekend it was held to the fact that much of it was held outside – I was

greatly encouraged by the number of you who came, and it seemed to me

that everyone who attended had an enjoyable time (and those of you who

dunked me in the dunk tank may even have had too enjoyable of a time!).

In particular, I want to thank all of you for your flexibility as we made these

changes this year – I appreciate your willingness to “roll with things” as we

seek to follow the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I also want to thank, in a special way, all of you who volunteered to work at

the festival – either behind the scenes or the day of. The festival could not

have happened without you, so thank you for your generous service. Equally

important are all of you who made donations for raffle prizes, for the country

store, for the silent auction, etc. Once again, I greatly appreciate your gener-

osity, without which the festival would not have been successful!

Sunday night, after the festival ended, I was extremely tired (as I’m sure

many of you were!) but at the same time my heart was filled with tremendous

gratitude to Almighty God for all of you. I was in awe of how the parish community came together to make this event so wonderful. And so, once

again, from the bottom of my heart thank you!

PARISH, SCHOOL & COMMUNITY EVENTS

Blessed Trinity Catholic School - First Day of School Mass Father Scott will celebrate Holy Mass at 10:00 am at Saint Michael on Tuesday, August 29th, the first day of school for Blessed Trinity Catholic School. There will not be Mass at Saint Patrick that morning.

Thank You From Father Paul Fagan Dear Friends of St. Peter parish in Nkololo, Tanzania My sincere thanks to all of you who welcomed me to Lodi and Dane. I am grateful for the donations given during my visit and those that continue to come in the mail. Songambele Hospital saves lives every day but we can save many more if we have the means to expand. We still have many build-ings to construct and many more services to provide. As you know medical equipment is necessary and expensive. I pray that everyone will join with me in our efforts to relieve suffering and provide good medical care to peo-ple in our remote area bordering on the Serengeti National Park in Tanza-nia. It is really a miracle that we even have a hospital in Nkololo. I have no doubt that that completing Songambele Hospital is simply God’s plan. I know that it is beyond my means and ability to take on such a task. The lo-gistics of building and equiping a hospital in a remote area are daunting. Nearly all equipment must be imported from England and Europe. Not easy! Please continue to support us in any way possible as we “songambele” i.e. “ move forward.” God Bless you all. Prayers, Fr. Paul To receive a tax receipt make checks out to our tax exempt corporation, Roads to Life Tanzania, INC. ( this is also the name of our WEBSITE) Send to Roads to Life, Tanzania, PO Box 157, Prairie du Chien, WI Our contact person is Mary Ruedinger, [email protected] Her mailing address is 13840 E. Lupine Ave. Scottsdale, AZ 85259. Cell Phone 608 770 0057 We can be found on You Tube: The Songambele Hospital.

National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children On Saturday, September 9, 2017, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League will co-sponsor the fifth annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, calling on pro-life Americans to honor the gravesites of our aborted brothers and sisters. Solemn prayer vigils will be conducted at these gravesites, of which there are 50 across the United States, as well as at dozens of other sites dedi-cated in memory of aborted children. By participating in the National Day of Remembrance, visiting these solemn memorial places at other times of the year, and spreading the word about this prayer campaign, you are helping to humanize our aborted brothers and sisters and deepening your own commitment to ending the injustice of abortion. Vigil for Life will host one of these memorial services at Saint Michael’s Church in Dane on Saturday, September 9, 2017 beginning with Father Scott celebrating Holy Mass at 10:00 am.
