Clubhouse is included in tuition (with the exception of Ski Club and Rock Climbing), and is scheduled in conjunction with athletics and middle school theater schedules. 2019-2020

Middle School

Monday - Chuck’s Chattering in Latin Why study an ancient language? Latin helps students to think logically and systematically. It helps to improve their English vocabulary and grammar, and to spell many difficult words. Studying Latin can enhance your student’s Spanish skills (plus other Romance languages). Latin provides many of the root words for modern science. Studying Latin has even been shown to improve standardized test scores. So carpe diem! - seize the day and join us for after school Latin study. Mondays, Sept 9 - Nov 18 and Mar 9 - June 8

Wednesday - Bobby’s Hobbies Come explore some of the many fascinating activities that can occupy your free time. You’ll trim bonsai, make studio art, shoot and edit short films, and play advanced cooperative games. Learn to tell some stand up jokes or write plays. You will also spend time doing BYOH - Bring Your Own Hobby - to share with others. Wednesdays, Sept 11 - June 3

Thursday - Patrick’s Plays From Greek tragedy to French comedy, the history of theatre is expansive and varied. Join Patrick as we explore dramatic literature from around the world. Using a combination of reflective discussion, slideshow lectures, and videos, students will learn about different cultural eras of theatre history. They will also casually read aloud and perform scenes from noteworthy plays (with no pressure of public performance). Thursdays, Nov. 7 - Nov 21 and Mar 5 - Mar. 26

Tuesday - Rock Climbing at MetroRock

All skill levels are welcome! Newer climbers will learn the fundamentals of belaying and work on climbing skills. Experienced climbers will progress the skills they have learned through more advanced climbing techniques, as well as more activity-based options like repelling and speed climbing. Program runs for 3-week and 4-week sessions. Tuesdays, Nov 5 - Nov 19 and Mar 10 - Mar 31 Cost per session: $179 and $239

Thursday - LES Ski Club Skiing down the slopes with your friends is a fun way to spend your winter days. Learn to ski or just fine tune your skills. After a fun afternoon of skiing, you will return to Lesley Ellis School at 7:00 p.m. Lift ticket, lesson and transportation for six weeks are included. Each session has additional weeks to allow for any snow days or cancellations. If no lessons are cancelled we will have an Apré Ski Party at school. Equipment rental is available for an additional fee ($125), to be fitted in September 2019. We encourage anyone who wants to learn to ski or just improve their skills to join. If you are unsure about whether this is right for you student, please contact Jeanette at [email protected]. Thursdays, Jan 2 - Feb 27 8 weeks - $463
