Lemartec is a three-generation, family-owned and operated Design-Build Construction Management firm specializing in commercial, industrial, and agricultural projects. Since the 1940s, the Garcia-Tuñon family has focused on the importance of design and value engineering as a critical success factor for each and every project. This commitment to quality from the pre-construction phase stems from our founder’s belief that an integrated approach to design and construction is the best way to ensure a successful project for our clients.

When Guillermo Garcia-Tuñón Sr., P.E., fled Cuba in 1960, he, his wife and nine children were forced to leave everything behind. That included a flourishing engineering and steel fabricating company he had spent a lifetime building, and which served the Island’s booming sugar industry, as well as some of the worlds largest corporation’s including Firestone, Glidden Paint, Bacardi Rum, Telemundo Studios, ESSO Standard Oil, U.S. Rubber, Polar Beer, and Goodrich Tires. After eight years in Spain, the family moved to the United States where, together with his sons, Guillermo Jr. and Jose, they founded Lemartec Engineering and Construction Corporation in 1979.

Since then, Lemartec has become a leader in the design and construction of industrial, energy and aviation projects known for its quality, service and professionalism throughout the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. We focus on building relationships one project at a time. From our in-house design department, project managers, and estimators to our entire office staff, our goal is to create value for clients through value engineering, efficient design, and the best construction quality in our industry.

The Lemartec Mentor-Protégée program serves as a natural complement to our client’s minority/disadvantaged business enterprise (M/DBE) utilization goals for qualified business enterprises. Through this program, we put into immediate action our in-house pre-qualification initiatives, which focuses on attracting and identifying local small, minority, and

disadvantaged firms. Our goal is simple: To empower Minority and Disadvantaged businesses… connecting them with resources that will help them succeed. As a minority owned firm ourselves, we are adamant in the promotion of these programs, and revolve our efforts around the specific needs of each client program.

The foundation of our program is modeled after the National Council for Minority Business Enterprise, and typically revolves around the following six key areas:

Jorge is Aviation Division Manager at Lemartec. He offers over 23 years of aviation experience working with the private and public sector. His areas of expertise include supervision, planning, and design of aviation, construction projects and the development of airport capital improvement projects.
