In the first lesson, you hear different examples of how German is spoken. This gives you an idea of how the language sounds,even if you do not understand the words. To begin with, you hear twopeople introducing themselves, then children reciting acounting rhyme. After that you hear part of a news broadcast, a song and finally, an excerpt (extras) from a well-known workof literature, Goethe's"Faust". The last two examples are explained in greater detail.
