Bunny Chow This Asian delight is full of aroma and flavour and makes an ideal Sunday night dinner treat. Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 20 mins | Cooking Time: 75 mins Ingredients 1 sachet Knorr Mild Durban Curry Cook-in-Sauce 1 loaf white bread cut into quarters 500 g mutton, cubed 3 potatoes, cubed 1 onion, chopped 15 ml oil 2 chillies, seeded and finely chopped Fresh coriander leaves for garnish 125 ml frozen peas 5 ml curry powder 400 ml water Instructions 1. Sauté chopped onion in oil, add meat and brown 2. Add curry powder and chillies and continue frying 3. Add potatoes and peas 4. Mix sachet contents with 400 ml cold water 5. Pour over the browned meat and veggies 6. Bring to the boil, stirring often 7. Cover and simmer for 45 min for meat on the bone or 1 hour for meat cubes (without bone) 8. Slice a loaf of bread into quarters and hollow out the soft bread in the middle to make a cavity to pour the curry into 9. Place the bread which was removed on the top of the bunny and serve with sambals

Ingredients

• 1 sachet Knorr Mild Durban Curry Cook-in-Sauce

All-in-one Chicken Dish

This signature dish is a taste sensation and is easy to put together.

Serves 4 - 6 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 60 mins

Ingredients

• 2kg chicken pieces

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 10-15 whole baby potatoes, peeled

• 500g small sweet potatoes, unpeeled and sliced

• 250g broccoli florets

• 250ml fresh breadcrumbs

• 2ml paprika

Sauce:

• 1 sachet KNORR Tasty Chicken Soup with Chicken Spice

• 250ml fresh cream

• 250ml milk

• 5ml curry powder

• 250ml mayonnaise

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 180°C

2. Place chicken pieces in a large roasting pan and season with salt and pepper

3. Arrange onions, potatoes and broccoli over the chicken

4. Combine the ingredients for the sauce and pour over the chicken and

vegetables

5. Cover with aluminium foil and bake for 1 hour Remove foil and sprinkle the

breadcrumbs and paprika on top

6. Bake for a further 30 minutes

Beef Sausage & Brinjal Stew

Brinjals and beef, combined with onion and tomato flavour, make this stew a family

favourite.

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 30 mins | Cooking Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

• 1 brinjal, cut into cubes

• 1 large onion, chopped

• 1 sachet KNORR Tasty Beef Soup with Steak & Chop Spice

• 50ml red wine (optional)

• 30ml oil

• 500g beef sausages

• 400ml water

• 100ml tomato paste

Instructions

1. Lightly salt the brinjal and leave to stand for 30 minutes

2. Rinse and pat dry with paper towel

3. Heat oil and fry onion and brinjal for 10 minutes

4. Add sausages and brown lightly

5. Mix soup powder, water, red wine and tomato purée and add to the sausages

6. Stir to thicken

7. Simmer gently for 30 minutes and serve hot

8. Serve with creamy mashed potato and a side serving of glazed carrots

Crustless Quiche

Looking for a Sunday lunch quiche? This crustless recipe is ideal and you can try

your own variations for the filling.

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

• 250ml milk

• 2 thick slices whole-wheat or brown bread

• 30ml KNORR Tasty Chicken Soup with Chicken Spice

• 500ml grated cheese

• 30ml margarine

• 2 extra large eggs

• 1 x 410g tin asparagus

• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 180°C

2. Boil milk and margarine together

3. Pour hot mixture over the bread and allow to soak in

4. Beat the eggs, KNORR Soup Powder, asparagus, cheese and salt and pepper

5. Add this to the bread mixture and mix lightly

6. Turn into a greased ovenproof dish and sprinkle with a little cayenne pepper

and bake for 30 minutes

7. Variations: Substitute sweetcorn for asparagus or add bacon or tuna

Easy Atchar Chicken Bake

This easy chicken bake makes a tasty weekday meal for the family.

Serves 4 - 6 | Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 60 mins

Ingredients

• 6-8 chicken pieces

• 1 sachet KNORR Brown Onion Soup Powder

• 250ml mayonnaise

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 500ml water

• 125ml mango atchar

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 180°C

2. Season chicken with salt and pepper and lightly fry in oil until the skin is crisp

and golden brown

3. Remove from the pan and arrange in an ovenproof dish

4. Mix the Knorr Soup Powder with water and mix in the mayonnaise and mango

atchar

5. Spoon over the chicken and bake for 50-60 minutes

6. Serve with steamed vegetables or salad of your choice

Mild Fruity Curry

This fruity curry is made using chutney and coconut and tastes great served with rice.

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 90 mins

Ingredients

• 25ml oil

• 1 garlic clove

• 10ml curry powder

• 1 carrot, peeled and thinly sliced

• 12ml coconut

• 12ml raisins

• 300ml water

• 1 onion, chopped

• 500g stewing steak, cubed

• 1 apple, peeled and chopped

• 1 peach peeled and sliced

• 12ml chutney

• 1 sachet KNORR Oxtail Soup Powder

Instructions

1. Fry onion and garlic in oil until soft

2. Stir in stewing steak and brown

3. Add curry powder and fry for 1 minute

4. Add apple, carrot and peach and continue to cook for a few minute before

adding the coconut, sultanas and chutney

5. Mix the soup powder with 300ml water and add to the meat mixture

6. Cover and simmer for 1 ½ hours until tender

7. Serve with couscous or white rice

Golden Chicken Schnitzels

A firm favourite for the kids, these chicken schnitzels with their special coating are a

flavour sensation.

Serves 4 - 6 | Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

• 8 Skinless chicken breasts, deboned

• 500ml dried breadcrumbs

• Oil for frying

• 1 sachet KNORR Minestrone Soup Powder

• 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

1. Place a chicken breast between 2 layers of cling film and flatten with a mallet

or rolling pin

2. Repeat with remaining chicken breasts

3. Season chicken with salt and pepper and roll the chicken in KNORR Soup

Powder, dip into egg and then into the breadcrumbs

4. Lightly fry until golden brown on each side

5. Serve with a healthy side salad or roasted vegetables

Meatball Kebabs

Make your own meatballs, and for added effect thread them onto skewers – the kids

and their friends will love them.

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 15 mins | Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

• 1 onion, finely chopped

• Oil

• 600g beef or chicken mince

• Worcestershire sauce to taste

• 30ml Knorr Tasty Beef Soup with Steak & Chop Spice

• 1 garlic clove, crushed

• 1 egg, beaten

• 25ml chopped coriander

• Salt and pepper to season

• 250g streaky bacon

Instructions

1. Mix all the ingredients (except the bacon) to make the meatballs

2. Shape the mince mixture into small rounds and wrap one rasher of bacon

around each ball

3. Thread 3-4 balls onto each skewer

4. Repeat until all the ingredients are used up

5. Cook in the oven on a baking tray at 180°C or on the braai until cooked

through

6. Serve with a basil mash made up of creamy mashed potato with 1 tablespoon

of finely chopped basil or pesto sauce

Oxtail Stew

This slow-cooked oxtail stew ensures the flavour is infused and the meat tender – the

perfect family meal.

Serves 4 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 180 mins

Ingredients

• Cake flour

• 1.7kg oxtail

• 30ml oil

• 60ml red wine or grape vinegar

• 5 carrots, peeled and coarsely chopped

• 1 packet KNORR Tasty Oxtail Soup with Barbecue Spice

• Salt and pepper

• 2 onions, chopped

• 500ml boiling water

• 60ml brown sugar

• 4 large potatoes, peeled and halved

• 50ml chopped parsley

Instructions

1. Season the cake flour with salt and pepper and coat the oxtail pieces

2. Evenly brown the meat and onions in heated oil and then add enough water to

cover

3. Add wine or vinegar and brown sugar and simmer for 3 hours until the meat is

almost tender (add more boiling water if necessary)

4. Add carrots, potatoes and half the soup powder and simmer until the

vegetables are done

5. Add more soup powder if the gravy needs thickening

6. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with parsley

7. Serve with mashed potato or rice

Easy to make and popular with the kids, this sausage bake tastes great and is very

affordable.

Serves 4 - 6 | Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

• 500g pork sausages

• 1 onion, chopped

• 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed

• 600ml water

• 5ml mustard

• 25ml oil

• 1 apple, cut into slices

• 1 sachet KNORR Tasty Minestrone Soup with Mixed Herbs .

• 30ml tomato sauce

Instructions

1. Brown the sausages in oil and place in a casserole dish

2. Fry onion, apples and potatoes and place on top of the sausages

3. Mix soup with water, tomato sauce and mustard

4. Season to taste and bake at 180°C for 30 minutes

5. Serve with couscous, or nutty brown rice
