path to enlightenment. Buddhism has different beliefs than other religions. Initially they believe in Karma. They believe that all action and thoughts will positively or negatively affect you in the future. Also they don’t center on a relationship between god and hu-manity. They felt the path to enlight-enment can only be done through morality, meditation, and wisdom. Best of all change is inevitable, noth-ing is fixed or permanent. The ways they meditate never change. Accord-ingly Buddhism doesn’t believe in a god, they only believe in meditation and Karma. The way they worship and how holy days are different than other religions. For instance Wesak is one of the holy day that they celebrate. It is on the first full moon in May that marks the birth on Buddha. Next the way they worship is really interesting. On the other hand they believe that Buddhism is based on inner peace. They really don’t have any key writings of the religion. The last exam-ple the standees out is Siddhartha Gautama was born 500BCE in Nepal. They believe that when you are dead you are dead forever. Hinduism Everything about Hinduism is old. In addition they may be the oldest re-ligion but they have a lot of history. Their educate priests about rituals was written around 1,500 BCE. Islam Islam is the youngest of three monotheistic religions. First of all it was founded over 1,400 years ago in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Its founder was Muhammad. Furthermore the follow-ers are called Muslims. And they be-lieve that Allah (God) is the one true God. Lastly, they believe in different things than most religions. They be-lieve in Judgment Day, praying to the east, The Drive Scriptures, and that Jesus was a prophet. Thus Islam maybe the youngest religion but they are one of the most interesting. Islam was founded over 1,400 years ago in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Initially its founder was Muhammad. They believed that the angel Gabriel and came to Muhammad and gave him revelations for the rest of his life which were later written down and became the Qur’an. Secondly, they worship in the Mosque. There’s a spot near the entrance for them to put their shoes. Then there is a large room with no furniture for them to pray in. Then there’s a niche in the wall to show where Mecca is and also there is a gathering place for the commu-nity. Even so, they believe God all powerful, all knows and just. They believe that there is Predestination but an individual will still have free will. Indeed they have very strict wor-ship rules and they have a strong

view of their God. The followers of Islam are also known as Muslims. An interesting fact is they pray to the East. They pray to the East because that is the direction Mecca is in. Second of all they have Ramadan. It lasts about a month and it’s when they fast from sun-up till sun-down so that they can appreciate what they have more. Best of all, their religious leaders are called a hafiz. A hafiz is a person who can memorize the Qur’an could basically be their religious leader. Therefore, they try and keep their lifestyles very humble. They believe in different things than other religions do. First and foremost, they have the second largest followers of all the religions. Next, Most of the believers live in Mecca Saudi Arabia. They believe that Mecca is their holy city a place where they can go and worship. On top of that before the believers lived in Mecca they lived in the Arabian Pen-insula. They lived here before and during the formation of the religion. As a result they have a large religion that has moved and grown. People in the Islam religion believe that both God and the individ-ual have roles within the religion. The individuals are supposed to spread the religion around the world. This is

just one of the many things a follower in the Islamic religion must do. In the same way, the relationship between God and the followers is like the relationship between the created and the creator. Even though God is not present in the world, it still reflects the nature and guidance of God. In addition to those, Mecca is the holiest meeting site in the Islamic religion. The city is modern, cosmopolitan, and ethnically diverse. It is about 910 ft. above sea level and has a population of about 1.7 million as of 2008. Too reemphasize, people in the Islamic religion believe that both the individ-ual and God both have roles within the religion. Islam may be the youngest of three monotheistic religions but it is by far the most interesting. One good example is, it was founded over 1,400 years ago in Mecca Saudi Arabia. It was founded by Muhammad. Like-wise its followers are also called Mus-lims. They believe in Allah (God) as the one true God. In the same light, they believe in different things than most religions. They have a Judgment Day, praying to the east, The Drive Scriptures, and that Jesus was a prophet. With all of this, it clearly shows that the Islam religion is a very interesting religion.

Summing this whole thing up Buddhism is a story of a man’s path to enlightenment. For example Bud-dhism is more ways of life than a re-ligion. They have a thing called the eightfold path to enlightenment. Along with that, there is that there are differ-ent beliefs then religion. They have the four Noble Truths. On top of that the way they worship and have holy days is different than a lot of other religions. They only have a few ways to worship and only have a few holy days. The best way to sum this up is that Buddhist believes in a man that they call Buddha.

The evidence clearly points Judaism is an organized time honored tradition. Judaism is one of the oldest religions. To begin with it was founded about 4,000 years ago by Abraham. The religion began in Mesopotamia. Another interesting fact is 14 million people kept Judaism as their religion. Still to this day they be-lieve in the original 613 command-ments. In addition to the first two facts they have faced torture in a variety of ways. They have been tortured by the Egyptians and Nazis. When looking at all the facts Judaism is the oldest re-ligion and they still have the same beliefs today. They believe in the 10 com-

mandments. Initially the 10 command-ments were given to Moses on Mt. Sinai. That is where Judaism became official. Furthermore during this time is when they were stranded in the de-sert for 40 years. The Jews believe these 40 years were years of purifica-tion. Even so most Judaism now lives around the world but mainly in Israel. They believe that God had promised this land to them. That is where they go to pray to their God. Along with that there is they have a lot of different holy days/celebrations then most religions. There are roughly 10 between holy days/celebrations. On top of that pray and devotion goes to one God. They believe in one God and one God only. All of this together shows Judaism have very strong religious beliefs in their God. The beliefs in Judaism are

strong. To begin with their religion leaders are called rabbis. Rabbis lead the ceremonies. In the same way they believe that God is personal but non corporeal. They believe in personal relationships with God. Best of all the individual role is to study the Toreah and to try and make the world a holy place. They go and try to spread the word in an attempt to make the world holy. Due to all of these reasons an individual in this religion has a lot of responsibilities. Summing this whole thing up Judaism is a well organized religion. It is important to know Judaism is one of the oldest religions. To show this it is about 4,000 years old.
