KEYNSHAM RIVERSIDE REDEVELOPMENT LEISURE CENTRE CONSULTATION 2015 Summary of Consultation carried out in September 2015: • Good attendance •4 possible sites presented for public comment •Over 70% supported Riverside as preferred site •Ashton Way only achieved 6% support •Main concerns about the initial designs were: •Loss of Sports Hall •Loss of Squash Courts •Loss of spectator seating to main pool •Wanted the facility to have a central location Current Developed Leisure Centre Strategy June/July 2016: •The new strategy is to refurbish and extend the existing Riverside Leisure Centre •This will maintain existing facilities including the Sports Hall, Squash Courts and Pool Spectator Seating Area •It is also proposed to improve the existing centre by providing the following new facilities: • Fitness Suite • Fitness Studios • 10x13m Learner Pool •Soft Play area Temple Street Loading bay Bus stop relocated from Civic Centre Retail Old Snooker Club will be Refurbished to Expand Leisure Centre Facilities New Undercroft Bike stands New on-street disabled parking bays Loading bay Existing Multi Storey Car Park Potential link to park via new staircase Plant Room Plant Room Option 1: Ashton Way Option 3: Hawkswell Option 2: Riverside Option 4: St Keyna Parking zones Pedestrian movement Vehicle movement Old Fire Station Site Civic Centre Site Entrance lobby to upper floors Entrance lobby to upper floors
