Taking part in our introductorycourses can be the beginning of an

exciting journey for you. These shortcourses are a great way of learning

for fun and can help you take apersonal interest to the next level or a

step towards a qualification. None ofthe courses have exams and most run

just once a week.

PURE LEISURE COURSES

An exciting range of courses andworkshops for adults to increase yourunderstanding of a chosen subject.

These course can be completed as aleisure activity. None of the courses

have exams, and most run just once aweek.

QUALIFICATIONS

A huge range of accredited coursesare available to advance your skills

and to encourage you to achievenew goals. Whether you plan to

launch your own business, wishto further your career, or improve

your knowledge or skills, we havea range of courses designed to suit

you. These courses are designedfor people who already have some

knowledge of the subject and arebecoming competent. If you are on

ISA/ESA (WRAG) you will qualify forfee remission.

MASTERCLASSES

These short courses are deliveredin a one day period and provide

skills, techniques, and top tips fromprofessionals. All costs of materials

are included in the fee.

RefundsNo refunds of fees are made other thanwhen a course is cancelled because ofinsufficient enrolments - in this case, a fullrefund will be made.

Completion of paperworkIn order to fulfill funding requirementsall courses will include paperwork whichstudents are required to complete.

Eligibility for coursesIn order to attend a course you must beaged 19 and over. If you are under 19 andwould like to attend you must pay the fullcourse fee and attend with an adult who

will also need to enrol for the course.

FEE REMISSION

Introductory coursesTo be eligible for a reduced fee on acourse you must be in receipt of one ofthe following:

Jobseekers Allowance, EmploymentSupport Allowance (WRAG), ChildTax Credit, Working Tax Credit, CarersAllowance, Disability Living Allowance,Attendance Allowance, Income Support,Council Tax Benefit or Housing Benefit

Evidence for the above will need to be aletter from the Jobcentre confirming theentitlement dated no more than threemonths prior to enrolment, or a copy ofa bank statement in the learners namedated no more than three month prior toenrolments.

Evidence will need to be provided whenenrolling for a course and must bereturned with your enrolment, form andpayment.

QualificationsFee remission is available for students onISA or ESA (WRAG) only.

There is no fee remission on masterclassesor pure leisure courses.

The Childrens University provides young

people aged 7-14 years old active learning

beyond the school day. If your school

provides activities before and after school,

at lunchtimes, holidays and weekends,

these can be validated as Childrens

University provision. Outside organisationssuch as sports clubs, museums, libraries,

dance schools can also be validated as

offering Childrens University activities

helping children to increase their learning.

If you are a parent and would like to
