Welcome to the spring / summer edition o the Leisure & Lie magazine.We have a great range o courses starting this April in convenientcommunity locations near you.

You can learn a new skill or make more o an existing hobby, and ourshort courses can provide an excellent starting point or progression ontohigher level study.

Celebrate Learning and Get Involved!

Adult Learners Week 2013

This year the annual Adult Learners Week is running rom 18th-26th May. Adult Learners Week is a chance or adults to seewhat learning opportunities are going on in their area and orlearning providers to showcase the range o provision they haveon oer. NHC will be hosting a range o short tasters to engageadults in learning across Stevenage and North Hertordshire.Why not try nd your inner Jamie Oliver and try a short cookerytaster, or discover your artistic side with a taster in drawing andpainting.

NHC Family Learning Week 2013

To celebrate intergenerational learning and the power that learning between amily memberscan bring, NHC will be hosting a series o short tasters or parents, carers and extended amilymembers to enjoy together with their children rom 27th May-1st June. Tasters will give you aninsight into subjects such as drumming, cooking and dance.

Our brochure o tasters or Adult Learners Week and Family Learning Festival will be availableonline at www.nhc.ac.uk and to pick up rom your local college reception.

NHC Celebrating Community 2013 - FREE Event

The Training or Employment and Community Team will once againbe hosting the annual FREE Celebrating Community event at NHCStevenage Campus on Saturday 29th June. The event gives adultsand children a chance to have a go at dierent activities such ascupcake decorating and hand massage. It is also a chance to meetlocal community organisations and see what is happening on yourdoorstep. Its a un day out or all the amily not to be missed!

As part o this years celebration we will be running the CommunityLearning Awards, where learners and tutors will be honoured or theeorts in teaching and learning.
