Lehi and Nephi

File Folders Originally from Kara Breit, Digitized by Lara Goold

Materials needed: File folders, glue, Velcro, laminating supplies (if desired)

Purpose: These are great for teaching your family about Lehi and Nephi. In addition, these are also great for

keeping in the church bag as a quiet sacrament activity.

Scripture: “And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the

Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of

men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he

commandeth them. ” 1 Nephi 3:7

Opening song(s) and prayer:

“Nephi’s Courage,” Children’s songbook, page 120

Directions: Cut out the following four scenes (a right and a left for each side of the file folder). Glue them into the inside

of a file folder. Laminate if desired.

Cut out the following figures. (There are more than one of some of the figures, so that there are enough of them for each

scene to have their own characters). Laminate if desired. Use Velcro to attach them to the file folders.

Using scenes and flannel board figures, retell your family stories from Lehi’s and Nephi’s experiences.
