The Living Legends are still here! Although I haven’t posted anything in a while, we are still meeting, eating and staying in touch. On the sad side, a couple of the Legends have had falls in the past months. One is healed and doing great; the other is still in rehab. Unfortunately, it is the fear of all Seniors to have an accident and be injured. If you live alone, it is even more feared because we worry that no one will hear us call, or we won’t be able to. So if you have neighbors who live along, try to check on them often – in person – to make sure they are okay. And if you are one who lives alone, keep your cell phone in your pocket to make sure you have access to a call for help!

Recently about 16 of us made it to dinner at the Olive Garden. It was a rainy night and the Italian food was really good, and it was good to get home safely. The OG was very accommodating for us, the manager was friendly and came by to visit with us a bit, and the waiters/waitresses were wonderful! We have found that most restaurants are very happy to have us and provide us with good food and a great time! We can get very loud sometimes – you know, hearing loss at our ages!!!

by Jerrie Sanders, LR Resident

the Living LegendsSeveral of our Living Legends belong to the Red Hats. They make

great use of the Harris County Precinct bus to take them all around the area. They have been to a castle in Bellville, Painted Churches around the LaGrange area, a small animal zoo south of here, entertainment and lunch at the Big Stone Lodge on Riley Fuzzel, and many other places. It’s a shame Montgomery County doesn’t have the same thing. We strive to stay busy and have a great time together.

We look forward to the rest of the year, planning new adventures, returning to past places and things we have enjoyed, and just enjoying the company and friendships of Living Legends. Added to that, we plan to continue being a visible and effective part of this neighborhood, helping where and when we can, attending the HOA meetings to keep abreast of our issues and achievements, and showing our wonderful Board of Directors that they are continuing to do a great job and that we will continue to support them.

See you next time, with further reports of the fun we’ve had and the places we’ve been! -Jerrie. Please leave a message for me at (281) 651-2593 to join us and get on our email list and Facebook option.
