In 1919, Frederick William Vanderbilt, scion of one of the wealthiest families in America and, arguably, one of the most influential men in the country, acquired land in the exclusive Condado district of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He selected Warren & Wetmore - one of the foremost architectural firms of the time, of Grand Central Station and Biltmore Hotel fame - to design the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, an exclusive tropical retreat in the heart of the

Caribbean.

Condado Vanderbilt is comprised of the main historic building, flanked by two 12-story towers, East Tower and West Tower. The hotel has 320 rooms, of them 111 suites, including one Presidential Suite in each tower.

Most accommodations have views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Every room and suite features comfortably elegant furnishings, along with the finest linens and toiletries, which coexist seamlessly with the latest technological equipment.
