LEGAL SERVICES CAMP
MULAGAON, BONGAIGAON, ASSAM
28TH JANUARY, 2018
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arup Kumar Goswami,
and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suman Shyam in the Legal Services Camp at Mulagaon,
Bongaigaon on 28th January, 2018.
The District Legal Services Authority, Bongaigaon, hosted the first of the three Legal Services
Camps in Mulagaon, in the district of Bongaigaon, on 28th January, 2018, pursuant to decision of the
Assam State Legal Services Authority, Guwahati, communicated vide letter No. ASLSA 51/2015/1988
dated Guwahati, the 16th January, 2018, to host the camp in this District, focusing on NALSA
(Effective Implementation of the Poverty Alleviation Schemes) Scheme, 2015, as per newly approved
model of Legal Services Camp.
THE VENUE : Lal Bahadur Shastri Vidyapith playground, Mulagaon, Bongaigaon
THE DATE : January 28, 2018 (Sunday)
THE PURPOSE : To connect the people with the various welfare schemes launched
by the Government as well as to redress their legal problems. Help
desks were set up, manned by PLVs and other office staff, who
helped the people in drafting their applications and also in filling up
forms issued by the Govt. departments at their stalls.

A Legal Literary Club was opened in Lal Bahadur Shastri Vidyapith, Mulagaon. A Legal Aid
Clinic was set up at Mulagaon Gaon Panchayat Office, Mulagaon, Bongaigaon and a Digitized Legal Aid
Clinic in a jail was opened in the District Jail, Abhayapuri, Bongaigaon.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Judge, Gauhati High Court, Guwahati & Executive Chairman,
ASLSA, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arup Kumar Goswami, Judge, Gauhati High Court, Guwahati and
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suman Shyam, Judge, Gauhati High Court, Guwahati, were amongst the
dignitaries who visited the camp.

The Government Departments who set up their stalls for extending benefits of the different
Government Schemes to the beneficiaries are as follows:-
1. The Education Department, Bongaigaon 2. The Zila Parishad, Bongaigaon
3. The Agriculture Department, Bongaigaon 4. The Common Services Centre, Bongaigaon
5. The Commerce & Industries Department, Bongaigaon.
6. The Electricity Department, APDCL, Bongaigaon 7. The District Transport Department, Bongaigaon
8. The Bongaigaon Municipality, Bongaigaon 9. The District Social Welfare Department, Bongaigaon
10. The Public Health Engineering Department, Bongaigaon.
11. The Health Services Department, Bongaigaon. 12. The Veterinary Department, Bongaigaon
13. The Foods and Civil Supplies Department, Bongaigaon. 14. The Labour Department, Bongaigaon
15. The State Bank of India, Bongaigaon
16. Prerona NGO, Bongaigaon.

Stalls of various Government Departments in the camp
The camp was attended by over 4,500 people. 28 stalls were set up in the camp which
included fire fighting team, drinking water facilities, and one stall each of ASLSA and DLSA,
Bongaigaon. Names of 1,091 beneficiaries were registered on the spot. 298 cattle and goats were
vaccinated out of which 184 cattle and goats were provided medical treatment. 6 cows and 2 goats
were insured as per Livestock Insurance Scheme under NLM. 92 nos. of water sample were collected
and analyzed by mobile water testing van. 4,500 pouches of drinking water were prepared in the
mobile water treatment van and distributed to people. 22 disabled persons were examined and
Certificate of Disability handed over to them. 25 babies were vaccinated with oral polio. 4
beneficiaries were given Critical Medical Assistance amounting to Rs. 1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh
and Fifty Thousand only). Training on fruit preservation was given at the camp site. 15 nos. of gas
connections were provided to women beneficiaries. 12 nos. of ration cards were provided under the
National Food Security Act. Forms were distributed under Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension Scheme
(IGOAPS), Indira Gandhi Widow Pension Scheme (IGWPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Scheme
(IGNDS) to beneficiaries. 7 (seven) cheques amounting to Rs. 32,500/- (Rupees Thirty Two Thousand
and Five Hundred only) were distributed as first instalment under PMAGY Scheme. Applicatinos were
taken from several persons for PAN cards, Income Certificates, Caste certificates, Passport, Savings
Bank Account and Tele Law. 250 people registered under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital
Saksharta Abhiyaan (PMGDISHA).

10 (ten) wheelchairs were given to differently abled children out of which 5 (five) wheelchairs
were handed over by Hon’ble Js. Hrishikesh Roy, Hon’ble Js. Arup Kumar Goswami, Hon’ble Js.
Suman Shyam, Smt. Indira Barman, District & Sessions Judge, Bongaigaon, and Shri Biswajit Pegu,
Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon. The other five were handed over by the concerned department
at the camp. 50 (fifty) school dropouts were registered and the District Legal Services Authority
provided school bags to all of them.
