Audiences are able to access the music faster and instantly which is more convenient for them rather than to have to go out and buy the Albums from the shops.
Legal downloading is when consumers are able to buy their favourite music online.
Nowadays on the internet there are many ways of buying music through online stores such as
ITunes store, Amazon MP3, fairsharemusic, eMusic, Google Play, Kazaa, Nokia Music Store,
Tune App, TuneTribe and Zune Marketplace.
Some artists have their own websites where you can buy their songs straight from their website.
iTunes and many of the other stores allows audiences to have a quick thirty second preview of the song before buying it.
iTunes and others allows you to buy specific songs rather than a whole albums.
StreamingStreaming is when a multimedia file such as a music video can be played whilst it is being downloaded
to your computer. The music video can be played back without being completely downloaded first.
Streaming differs from previous video downloading protocols on the Internet in that it allows for the sending and receiving of media across the worldwide Web in real-time.
Advantages of streaming music services like Rdio.com, MOG.com, and Spotify, each of which
now have free subscription options.
With streaming music sites, your music is accessible to you everywhere if you have Wi-Fi access, and/or 3G access if you subscribe to a premium service.
Social networking can be used, for example Rdio, allows you to browse music collections of your
member friends, as well get constantly updating music recommendations in albums of people in
Your Network, or Everyone else in the Rdio space.
Streaming music sites like MOG, Rdio, and Spotify are offering free membership to stream a limited amount of music.
