Memoir Writing Workshop Mondays - September thru November 6-7:30 p.m. Memoirs are our accounts of events—things that we have experienced. Memoirs may focus on special occasions, a person, place, time, idea, relationship, pet, belief, or place, among many other possibilities. The more you explore and discov- er, the more engaged you and your readers (if you choose to share your stories) will be. This series of workshops will be facilitated by Erika Hunter, M. Ed. (author, editor and writing instructor). This is a 5 week program that will be held on Mon- day, Sept. 18, Oct. 2 & 23, Nov. 6 & 20. Limited to 10 people . Please register for this event by calling 659-2626 or dropping by the library. Found Prints Workshop Wednesday Sept. 20 & 27 6:30-8 p.m. As the name suggests, this workshop uses random found objects to create a unique negative from which a print or series of prints can be made. In the first class you may select items from those provided or bring your own collection of textures and shapes suitable for pressing. Examples would be yarn, fabric scraps, small beads, leaves, wire or anything that sparks your imagination! These items are used to cre- ate a picture or abstract image by gluing them on card stock, thus creating your negative to be used in the second class. In the second class you will apply ink to your negative making a print that can be mat- ted, framed or used in another craft project. Please register by Friday, September 15 by calling 659- 2626.
