Definition:
• distinct areas of recognizable unified character, often defined by spatial enclosure (basins, valleys, corridors, watersheds, etc.)
Visual unit descriptors
• Landscape composition• Scale• Boundary definition• Spatial configuration/proportions• Landscape patterns• Unifying/detailed features • Orientation • Sub-units/settings (eg. waterscapes)
