As we enter the traditionalsummer months, we always havea large number of folks away andwe are also always blessed withmany visitors. Both were the caseyesterday. We had folks from many different places with us, including several from ourcommunity. We continue to pray that we will have many with us from near as well as

    far.

336 were with us for worship yesterday morning. Our lesson focused on the daily pas-sages in the Bible, which remind us that we are to follow Christ constantly. The songs wesang were perfectly appropriate and the entire service was uplifting. All who led had obvi-ously thought about their leadership role before our services.

At 2:00, four of us led the monthly services at Sycamores Terrace assisted living home. Itwas my privilege to speak, and I simply tried to encourage those present to remain

planted as those trees of Psalm 1.

At 5:30, our VBS staff met one final time. Our school begins next Sunday night, and we arelooking forward to it! (see next page for more infor-mation)

Finally, we had our evening services. I preached asermon entitled Why Did Uzzah Die? We tried toexamine that interestingyet, tragicaccount fromseveral angles, all showing that Uzzahs death wasawful, but justified. We were reminded to be truly

committed in our faith and to constantly press for-ward pass laziness in our Bible study and in ourChristian walk.

Our young people finished off the day with a devo-tional hosted by two families, the Hills and theThompsons. Were grateful for all those who arewilling to host our young people! Another wonderfulSunday!
