FOREWORDThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants is launching a campaign all over the world to encourage you, the descendants of Lebanese emigrants, to reconnect with the land of your forefathers and to claim your Lebanese nationality.

A new law, ratified by the Lebanese Parliament on the 24th of November 2015, gives you the right to claim your Lebanese nationality, through a very simple procedure.

Lebanon is the land of a millenary civilization, built on co-existence, love, and harmony. Be proud to belong to it.

Gibran Khalil Gibran, one of our most prominent emigrants, once said “If Lebanon were not my country, I would have chosen Lebanon for homeland”.

I would like to encourage you to seize the opportunity by claiming your Lebanese nationality and preserving your connection to the land of your ancestors. It is your right to invest in their legacy, be proud of their heritage, and preserve it.

NEW NATIONALITY LAW PREVIEWBy virtue of the new law bearing the number 40 and ratified by the Lebanese Parliament on the 24th of November 2015; claiming your Lebanese nationality has never been easier:

- Is your name or the name of any of your male ancestors registered on the 1924-1921 emigrants or residents’ census or on the 1932 emigrants’ census?

- Prove your relation to them through any official document

The process is FREE OF CHARGE and requires 6 to 12 months to be finalized.
