    General Structure of Data Circuit

Most of the leased circuits modems offer bandwidth or speed in multiples of 64K

On copper the highest speed that user can get is about 2.048 Mbps

Most popular modems use DSL( Digital Subscriber line) technology to connect to nearest exchange

DSL technology typically supports 4 Kms at 2 Mbps it uses 2B-1Q encoding

Most popular interface on the network side is G-703 interface

For 64 Kbps it is known as G 703 Co-directional

Above 64 Kbps it is known as G 703 interface On network side these modems are connected

to multiplexers, which consolidate the data into streams of E1 lines for easy transmission

    Power Requirement V-MUX

VMUX operates on 48 Volt DC. Power requirement for each VMUX sub rack = 5

Amp Max. Each sub rack power supply unit receives 48

Volts through individual MCB placed at the top rear of the rack.

VMUXs operating on 230 Volt AC should be provided with un-interrupted 230 Volts supply.

    Transmission Equipment

Due to heavy demand for the leased circuits, service providers have started using

equipment known as Managed Leased Line Network

These are specialized transmission equipment meant for carrying leased line data only and uses the existing telecommunication backbone for hauling data over long distance

  • CETTM MTNL

    41Leased Line & MLLN

    Features beneficial to the customers

Customers need not to buy modems 24 hours performance monitoring of the circuit Circuit fault reports generated proactively On demand bandwidth can be increased Low lead-time for new circuit provisioning Protection against the failure of the circuit Long drive on single pair copper Centrally managed from NMS

Network Management System The NMS of MLLN is centrally managing all

the elements of MLLN e.g. DACC, VMUX and NTU

The NMS shall allow the Network operator to configure, Provision, manage and monitor all aspects and parameters of the remote elements of MLLN without the need of local intervention

Failure of the NMS shall not result in loss of any network service

It provides Network Status Display using any standard graphical facility to view the network
