Section 2Definitions

• Special Processing – Property that has a characteristic that requires it to be managed by a certain process or it has disposal requirements that require that are unique.

• A Certificate (Cert) is a document or statement that is required prior to receipt (excluding HW) that ensures any applicable special processing requirements have been accomplished that need to happen to properly manage the property. The Cert document are but not limited to: Certification of Demilitarization, DEMIL F instruction, Inert Certification, Certificate of Hard Drive Disposition, Refrigerant Removal Verification Statement, a Clear Text Statement for Critical FSC LSNs.

Critical FSC LSNs Requirement

• The clear text statement for critical FSC should contain the Demil code annotated on the DTID. The DTID must include the following as well:

• FSC• Part number• Manufacturers name• Nomenclature which accurately describes the

item End item application Clear text statement why the NSN is not included

Critical FSC LSNs Example Statements

• MLI Critical FSC. This is a Demil B item. Mutilation required. Full NSN cannot be found in WEBFLIS or FEDLOG. Item has no identifiable information that can be tracked back to an NSN. This item is an elevator trim tab servo for a C-130H aircraft.

• • "MLI Critical FSC. This is a Demil D item. Total

Destruction is required. Full NSN cannot be found in WEBFLIS or FEDLOG. Item has no identifiable information that can be tracked back to an NSN. This item is a landing gear actuator for the A-10 aircraft"

• When the receiver inspects the property and the property is identified as requiring “Special Processing” , the following must have Certs, if not then it can’t be received.– DEMIL F instructions must be with the property– Hard Drives must have a Cert attached to the Hard Drive– Unserviceable equipment with refrigerant must have the

Cert attached to the property– Critical FSC LSNs property that does not have a statement

can’t be received. The statement can be on the 1348 or on a separate document.
