O my Master! Let this work be a source of guidance, benefit, mercy & forgiveness for

me, my daughter, my parents, and my family and for all those (from past, present

& future), who, according to your knowledge, are Muslims.

And I bear witness that there is no God

(Deity) but Allah and Mohammad (sal-lal laa_hu ‘alaihi wasal-lum) is the Messenger of

Allah and His servant and the Last (final) Messenger. (Ameen)

All praise is for Allah Ta’ala,

Sustainer of the entire universe, Lord of all the worlds, Who has ordered us to read, so that we can achieve knowledge and gain the eternal success. Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’an –

“Who has taught by the pen. He has taught man that which he knew not.” (Al-'Alaq 004-005).

Blessings upon Prophet Muhammad sal-lal laa-hu ‘alaihe wasal-lam1, to whom, Deen Islam was completed and perfected.

We offer praise to our Rabb (Allah Ta’ala), in such gratitude, which is worthy of His Being and Magnificent Sovereignty. He enlightened the hearts of His Aulias (friends) with divine guidance and strength of belief, and provided strength to their perception with the luminance of Wahi (revelation).

Whomsoever He desired He guided to the right path, whomsoever He wanted, in His wisdom, He led astray.

We bear witness that there is no God (Deity) except Allah Ta’ala, He is the One and Only and has no partner. He is the Master of the Day of Qiyamah (the day of final judgment). Also, we bear witness that

our Prophet and leader Hadhrat Muhammad sal-lal laa-hu ‘alaihe wasal-lam1, is His bondsman and the last Messenger, leader of all the ancients and the moderns.

He was sent forth with the Holy Qur'an as a blessing for humanity and jinn, which is the finality of all the Holy revelations like the Torah (i.e. the Taurit), the Pslam (i.e. the Zabur) and Bible (i.e., the Ingeel) and a bearer of glad tidings for the Muslims.

O Allah! Send Durood and Salaam, shower blessings upon your bondsman and Messenger, Muhammad sal-lal laa-hu ‘alaihe wasal-lam1, upon his descendants (family members), Ashaab (his blessed companions), Tabi`een (companions of the companions) and Tabe-Tabi’een (their companions). (May Allah Ta’ala be merciful to all of them).

Amma - Ba`ad. O Muslims, fear Allah Ta’ala. Fear

Allah Ta’ala as is His due. Hold fast to the strong bond of Islam. Allah Ta`ala's Deen (religion) in the Heavens and the Earth, for the ancients and the moderns is only the Deenul Islam (the Islamic religion). Learning Islam is fardh (mandatory) for all Muslims regardless to their age:

It is important for every Muslim for both man and woman to learn and acquire knowledge of Islam. Without knowledge a Muslim can’t perform his life appropriately as Allah Ta’ala and His messenger prescribed and thus unable to save himself / herself from the eternal hellfire. So, Prophet Muhammad sal-lal laa-hu ‘alaihe wasal-lam1 made it obligatory for all of us to learn this religion (Islam) and to acquire knowledge. In His Mighty Book Allah Ta’ala says –

® ö≅è% ö≅yδ “ ÈθtGó¡o„ t⎦⎪Ï%©!$# tβθßϑn= ÷è tƒ t⎦⎪Ï%©!$#uρ Ÿω tβθßϑn= ÷è tƒ 3 ⟨

“Say: "Are those equal, those

who know and those who do not know?” (Az-Zumar, 009).

Allah Ta’ala also says -

“Allah will raise up, to (suitable)

ranks (and degrees), those of you who believe and who have been granted Knowledge.” (Al-Mujadila: 011).

Prophet sal-lal laa-hu ‘alaihe wasal-lam1 said, “Whomever Allah Ta’ala wants to bless, Allah Ta’ala make him a Fakih (a sincere, practicing knowledgeable scholar in Islam). (Bukhari and Muslim). We seek guidance:

We ask Allah Ta’ala, the Master of the Day of Judgment for our guidance and forgiveness and on Him solely do we depend and rely –

Notes For Teachers & Parents / Guardians: Notes for teachers: The child’s capability to become a good Muslim should be cultivated by correct education and proper upbringing. The parents and the guardians have entrusted the child to you (the teacher) for children’s Islaamic education, therefore recognize and shoulder your responsibility with sincerity. A fundamental factor in education is love for the child by the tutor. Be friendly and positive. Assess their capabilities and ease their mind so that, they can adapt the Islaamic moral value in their mind. Beware! A teacher’s conduct should be an exemplary so that it may be emulated by the students. It must be remembered that the children are observant of even the minutest act of the teacher. They also mindful of what a teacher utter. Therefore, whichever approach the teacher adopts, it will be followed by the children. Finally, three important things to remember:

1. An effort must be made for the students to conduct themselves according to the Islaamic Shari-ah (law) at all times.

2. Each student must understand

and complete the lessons before being taught any new lesson.

3. The teacher must daily make du’a

for all the students.

And again, the parents and guardians have entrusted the students to you (the teacher). So, fear Allah Ta’ala. Notes for parents and guardians: All children are dearer to their parents more than their own life. In this earth (life time) it will be an unbearable pain for the parents to see that their child is burning in an ablaze house. Then, how about they burn in hellfire because of your (parents) negligence and ignorance? Dear parent, Allah Ta’ala entrusted the child to you for his life in this earth and the life hereafter. Along with other things you will be questioned in the Day of Judgment about your children’s Islaamic education and

their religious life. Therefore, only sending your children in a Madrasa (Islaamic School) does not eliminate your responsibility. It is also important to follow up with the teacher as so, it will not waste your money as well as your and your children’s time. Since, children come only for few hours in a week, hence bigger responsibility lies on parents. We will assist you in every way we can to achieve the goal but practicing Salaat (five times obligatory prayers), fasting and eating Halaal food etc. and other ritual activities depends totally on you. It is the duty of the parents to check daily whether the children have performed their five fardh Salaat. This could be effectively done by each child having a chart that is signed by the parent and teacher daily or weekly.

Dear parent, the habit of performing Salaat from childhood is very important. They are your future. After your death, either they will seek forgiveness for you or they will abandon you. Dear parents, this is your choice.

And finally, for all of us there is a warning from Allah Ta’ala:

® öÝàΖ tFø9 uρ Ó§øtΡ $Β ôMtΒ£‰ s% 7‰ tóÏ9 ( ⟨

“And let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow” (Qur’an: Al-Hashr : 018). Notes for New Muslims & adults: This book is not only for the children. Adults and New Muslims will find this book as an important handy book for their basic need for the knowledge of Islaam. Children who do not go to any Madrasa (Islaamic school) but study Islaam and the Qur’aan at home, especially during the weekend (Saturday & Sunday), for them inshaAllaah this will be an excellent, informative reference book.

Shahadah (The Testimony Of Faith)

22

The True Meaning Of Shahadah:

Dear children, we, the Muslims believe in only one God. We call Him Allah. Believe in One God (Allah) is called Tauheed. About Allah Ta’ala we believe:

There is no God (Deity) but Allah Ta’ala Alone.

Allah Ta’ala has no partners.

Allah Ta’ala is neither man, nor woman.

Allah Ta’ala has no shape that one can imagine.

Allah Ta’ala has no children or family.

Allah Ta’ala does not eat, drink or sleep.

Allah Ta’ala does not need anything but everything is in need of Allah Ta’ala.

Allah Ta’ala created the entire universe but no one created Allah Ta’ala.

Allah Ta’ala sees and listens what happens everywhere.

Allah Ta’ala is never tired & He will never die.

Moses (Musa), Jesus (Isa), Mohammad and all Prophets are also Allah Ta’ala’s servant.

Allah Ta’ala has been from always & will remain forever.

Allah Ta’ala is most merciful and there is none equal to Allah Ta’ala.

Allah (God) Is One God

Mohammad Is Allah’s Prophet

Dear children, we, the Muslims also believe that -

Prophet Mohammad (sallal laa_hu ‘alaihi wasal-lum) is the Messenger & servant of Allah Ta’ala.

He was a human being but he was not a common people like us. He is not Allah (God), nor the son of Allah (God) because Allah Ta’ala (God) has no family, son or daughter.

Prophet Mohammad (sallal laa_hu ‘alaihi wasal-lum) is the seal (final) of the Prophets and no new Prophet-hood after him.

Like all other Prophets (Messengers) he was sinless because Allah Ta’ala protects the Prophets (Messengers) from committing the sin.

Prophet Mohammad (sallal laa_hu ‘alaihi wasal-lum) is mortal and he is dead now; he can’t see or listen to the people.

To Allah Ta’aala only acceptable method of practicing Islaam is to follow no other methods but the methods of Prophet Mohammad (sal-lal laa-hu ‘alaihe wasal-lam) only.

[Dear children, we love our Prophet Mohammad more than our own life and whenever his name is pronounced we would say “sallal laa_hu ‘alaihi wasal-lum” or at least we would say – peace be upon him.]

The Story Of Hadrat Bilãl (RadiAllãhu ‘anhu)

Give Up Islãm, or Die

Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu was the slave of Umayyah. Umayyah was an idol worshipper, who lived in the City of Makkah. He believed in many Gods. When Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu accepted Islãm, Umayyah became very mad with him. He told Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu to leave Islãm and worship the idols. Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu refused his command. This made his master became angry.

Umayyah started torturing him. He made Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu lie on the burning sand in the hot sun. He used to place heavy stone on his chest and said: “Give up Islãm or die”. Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu suffered much but he did not give up Islãm. He would only say: “Ahad (Allah is One)! Ahad (Allah is One)!”

Now Umayyah and other evil peoples of Makkah took turns to whip him. He was then left in the sun to suffer. He would only say: “Ahad (Allah is One)! Ahad (Allah is One)!” They would also drag him in the streets. Again the same words were heard: “Ahad (Allah is One)! Ahad (Allah is One)!”

Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu was serious about not to give up

Islãm. At last Hadrat Abu Bakr radiAllãhu ‘anhu bought Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu from Umayyah and set him free.

Hadrat Bilãl radiAllãhu ‘anhu was the first Muazzin (a person who

calls for prayer) of Islãm. He was a close friend of our Prophet sal-lal lãhu ‘alaihi wasal-lum. He is remembered and will be remembered by the Muslims for his patience and sacrifice until the world ends.

Dear children, the Oneness of Allah Ta’ãla is explained very well in the Qur’ãn in Suraa Ikhlaas:

“Say: He is Allah, the One (and Only) Allah is Absolute (on Whom all depend) No one is born of Him, nor is He born, And there is no one like Him.” (Qur’an: Surah 112: 1 - 4)

Of

Imãn

26

7 Pillars Of Imãn:

27

Detailed On Aqaa-id Regarding Eymãn:

To Have Faith in Allah Ta’aala

Allah, in His Existence, His Oneness in His Attributes, His deserving to be worshipped and supplicated (dua / seeking help) to Him alone and His right to legislate.

To Have Faith In His Angels We must believe in Angeles. They

are also the servant of Allah Ta’aala and they worship Allah Ta’ala alone. Unlike other religions belief, Muslims believe that Angeles are neither man nor woman and they do not commit any sins. They are countless in number. We can’t see them because they are created from the light. Since they do not commit any sin and never disobey Allah Ta’aala, hence, there is no such concept of fallen angels in Islaam.

Based on the duties they perform, there are 8 famous Angels. Here is a brief description of them: 1. Allah has created Angels out of light and gave them various duties to perform. 2. They are not visible to us. 3. They do not commit any sin nor do they disobey Allah. 4. They do what Allah has ordered. 5. We do not know their exact number. 6. We know of our four famous angel. They are:

7. Hazrat JIBRA-EEL (Alayhis Salam) brought Allah’s Books, orders and messages to all the prophets. He was also sent to help the prophets at times and fights against their enemies.

8. Hazrat MICAA-EEL (Alayhis Salaam) is in charge of food and

rain. Other Angels work under him who are in charge of clouds, the seas, the rivers and the winds. He gets the order from Allah. He then orders the others under his command.

9. Hazrat IZRAA-EEL (Alayhis Salaam) takes away life with the] order of Allah. He is in charge of death. Numerous Angels work under him. Some take away lives of good persons whilst others looking very fearful take away the lives of sinners and disbelievers.

10. Hazrat ISRAAFEEL (Alayhis Salaam) will blow the soor (trumpet) on the Day Of Judgment. The sound will destroy and kill everything that is on the Earth and in the skies. When he blows for the second time all will come to life with the order of Allah.

11. There are two Angels that are always with every person. One writes all his GOOD DEEDS whilst other enters all his BAD DEEDS. They are known as KIRAAMAN-KAATIBEEN.

12. The Angels MUNKAR and NAKEER question a person (in the grave) when he dies. .x.

13. Some Angels are in charge of HEAVEN, some of HELL, some of looking after children, the old, weak and others whom Allah wishes to protect.

14. From the QUR`AAN and HADITH we come to know that various other Angels are in charge of various other duties.

28

To Have Faith In His Books

1. His Books [the Torah, the Psalms the Gospel

of Jesus and the Qur’an, which is the final commandment.

To Have Faith In His Messangers 2. His Messengers [the first of them was

Prophet Adam and the last of them was Muhammad, being the Seal of the Prophets].

To Have Faith In Life After Death 3. Life after death i.e. to believe that one will

receive some sort of punishment or enjoyment in the grave according to his/her deeds until the day of resurrection.

To Have Faith In The Day Of Last Judgment (Qiyamah)

4. The Last day [the day of resurrection for the

reckoning of the people according to their deeds, and their appropriate compensation (award or punishment)].

To Have Faith In Qadar

5. To believe in Qadar (Divine Preordainment /

destiny) [that all which occurs of good and evil is by Divine decree, accompanied by the employment of means to achieve desired results with satisfaction of what happens of good or bad, the sweet or bitter, because it occurs by Allah’s Decree].

If one believes in the above mentioned

pillers of Islaam, he/she will be within the fold of Islaam even though, he/she drinks alcohol or involve in sex before marriage or involve in illegal sex other than marriage or involve in Riba (give or take interest) or do not give Zakaat out of misery etc. He/she will be a great sinner though.

Whatever Allah Ta’ala and His Messenger sallal laa_hu ‘alaihi wasal-lum1 told as sin or good, if one accepts it, his or her Imaan is still valid.
