    Learning Outcomes in Higher Education

    The world is changing. Societies have chosen in many ways to get whatever they want in

    life instantaneously, even in education system. In other way, the unsustainable actions can be

    reserved in our communities, anytime, anywhere. We are now trying to understand that the

    changes that have to be made involves all arts and level of society. Education will lay a crucial

    role in this adatation towards sustainable develoment.

    In higher education, we educate eole that will shae the future society. They will

    develo the societal and technical system, be the most influential decisions ma!er, and they will

    educate citi"ens and rofessional on all levels. This imlies rethin!ing and reorgani"ing in higher 

    education to become an effective changes agent.

    Systemic or holistic thin!ing is often mentioned in sets of learning outcomes for student

    in higher education. #nalytical thin!ing is about brea!ing the things aart while synthetic

    thin!ing is about utting things together. Systemic thin!ing in other hand, is about combining

    these two thing in a larger system and be able to understand cause$effect chains and also to

    understand concetion of model of a system.

    S!ills that are often mentioned are roblem solving, teamwor!, critical and creative

    thin!ing, and becoming an effective changes agent. %ut learning outcomes do not refer only to!nowledge and s!ill, but also to awareness, attitudes, and values.

    In addition to gaining all !ind of !nowledge, the learning outcomes all included systemic

    thin!ing and also interersonal and intraersonal s!ill to create an educated eole because they

    will be the most influential decisions ma!er in order to create a better future.
